JJ suspended indefinitely for not showing up

The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have suspended guard/forward Jim Jackson indefinitely for failing to report to the team.

Jackson was acquired along with forward Bostjan Nachbar from the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard David Wesley on Dec. 27. The trade will not be affected by Jackson's suspension, meaning Nachbar will be available for tonight's contest vs. Phoenix.

"We're confident that once Jim has time to evaluate his situation more closely, he'll understand that we have a great organization and a tremendous coaching staff and that New Orleans is a wonderful place to become part of the community," said Hornets General Manager Allan Bristow. "The Hornets have established a strong winning tradition over the years. We plan to continue to work tirelessly to get back to that."

Jackson has spent time with Dallas, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Golden State, Portland, Atlanta, Cleveland, Miami and Sacramento in addition to Houston (where he signed as a free agent prior to the 2003-04 season). He had averaged 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 24 games with the Rockets this season.

I dont blame him if i've played for half the league and end up stuck on a 2-2x team during my twilight i wouldnt show up either
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

He should just call it a career or ask for a buyout and sign with a contender.

Suspended indefinitely? My goodness those people in New Orleans are so strict. It sucks that he's now been traded to a 2-24 team.

When you're on a different team every season i think that love is gone.

                            You play for two things:

                            1. Money
                            2. Championships

JJ, was/is not interested in money...he has been paid a boatload of money over his career...at this point in his career, it is all about winning a championship (which is why he signed with Houston in the first place...he should have stayed in Sac-Town (where they wanted him). Jackson has always been a good player, and I agree with his frustration with this trade. You don't sign with a suppossed contender, and accept a trade for a player of lesser talent that played on a doormat team...there was no reason for this trade to include him. Hopefully, Charlotte will void his contract, so the Kings can pick JJ back up.

That tired cliche of 'playing for the love of the game' is bogus and doesn't hold an ounce of weight..JJ is looking out for his best interests and that is all that matters in this case.
