Re: MJ age 22, compared to Lebron age 20

Unfortunately guys this is a mute point. The league was much different back then. A couple of reasons are...

        A. Better teams (not just individuals)
        1. Celtics - Bird, McHale, Parish, Johnson, Lewis
        2. Lakers - Magis, Worthy, Scott, Jabbar, Woolridge
        3. Milwaukee - Robertson, Blackman, Sikma, Pearce
        4. Pistons - Thomas, Dumars, Johnson, Lambeer, McGuire
        5. Spurs - Robinson, Perry, Anderson, Strickland

I can go on, but you get the picture. These teams were together for longer periods of time and had all around games.

        B. Defensive rule changes
        1. No hand checking
        2. Zone Defense allowed now
        3. 3pt Line moved in

Dont get me wrong, King James is the man, but its unfair to him because he has different circumstances he is playing under now.

Re: MJ age 22, compared to Lebron age 20

This is an example where people don't look deep enough. Someone said James always uses picks. When James has the ball, the defense sets and zones on him. they do that all game, b/c they got to protect the rim. So James uses the pick, to draw the center out of the lane, just making the zone less effective, and it makes the lane less crowded. If you watch James and the Cavs, you'd see that the other team zones them a lot b/c Cavs are not a good shooting team. The zone stacks the lane with 2 or 3 players. So it's useless for James to take his man off the dribble, only to get in the lane and 2 or 3 defenders are there. So call a pick, which draws one of those players out of the lane, so James has a better chance if he decides to penetrate. James can take any defender off the dribbler. It's just that picks make his life easier once he gets in the lane, because the center is now on the perimeter, and Z can hit perimeter shots anyway.

So it's faulty to judge somebody by age. I'm as big as a Lebron fan as the next guy but we don't know how good he's going to be. I'm not so sure that Lebron would be winning every game in college right now. I'm not so sure that there isn't this 13 year old in Siberia who may be the greatest of them all....you just don't know.

Re: MJ age 22, compared to Lebron age 20

You just cosigned onto gibberish. Grant Hill DID NOT average 22, 9 and 7 at age 22. He averaged 18, 6.4 rebounds, and 5 assists, at age 22, numbnuts. Get it straight. At age 23, he averaged 20, 9.8 reb, and 7 assists, but that was his 2nd year.

Bernard ALSO was not better than MJ or Bron.

When you gotta lie to make your point, it just makes the other side more right. Like I said, check the numbers, the 1994-95 season, Grant was born in 1972, so he was 22 years old that season. He only averaged 18, 6.5 and 5 assists on 46 %.

Lebron at age 19-20 is averaging 24.5 pts, 49 %, 7.2 assists, and 7 rebounds, 2.47 steals, Grant only got about 1.4 steals.

Bernard was PRIMARILY a scorer. Later in his career he was OK as a rebounder. Lebron is a scorer, passer AND rebounder, at age 19-20 yrs. You're so full of it it's sad.

Finally someone responsing, you make a good point Rb, but you forget why it's the only way LBJ would score unless people play D, like the Hawks did in the 4th Q. tonite
