I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but one of the most amazing things I’ve seen in the NBA is Brook’s development so late in his career to become an elite outside shooter because it’s what his team and the current NBA demands.

Been watching Bucks and Celtics sets the last few days.

Can't even believe I'm saying Splash Mountain. But I think Brook Lopez has been of the most underrated pick ups in the off season. Like he's also found the most happiness place he could ever be. He's never been a good rebounder. But he's weirdly good at rim protection. Thank Kenny for his 3 point game. He's only 31 years old. Still in his prime. Still can run post up plays for him.
That was a couple years ago so I don't remember exactly how it was worded, or if I saw it here or somewhere else.. But just looking at stats now it matches up perfectly with whats happened this year too. Bucks go from last in the league in rebounds per game last season and this year they are first in the league. Giannis is also averaging a career best on the glass by a pretty good margin, nearly 3 more boards per game playing nearly 4 less minutes.Comment

Re: 2019 Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
I think numbers have indicated him to be one of the most valuable players in the league for team rebounding for awhile, even in his Nets days. I know Thad Young averaged a career best 9 boards alongside him while being a career 6 guy. Booker set a career high next to him, Giannis now.
Also reading a hoopshabit article now that claims in the 3 years before this season Brooks on/off rebounding differentials ranked in the 98th, 91st, and 76th percentiles.. Basically every team he plays on they are a vastly better rebounding team with him on the floor. The article, 8 months old, was projecting he was going to have a big impact on Bucks team rebounding by adding Lopez...and they ended up jumping from last to first lol
Article compares him to someone like Whiteside who jumps for every board and posts good rebound numbers individually but provides little to no team impact, vs Lopez who will box his man away from the ball and hold position and posts low rebound numbers himself but ensures he team ends up with the ball.
And this quote, from the year Reggie Evans snagged so many boards:
According to Schuhmann, in 18 games under the watchful eyes of Spor**** cameras, Lopez actually grabbed 63% of all rebounds when he was in the vicinity of the ball, compared to just 62% for Evans. 54% of Lopez's rebounds were contested, while only 31% of Evans's were, and Lopez traveled more than 2 feet further on average to grab his rebounds.
We (and others) have dissected how Brook Lopez's attention to boxing out made Evans's job as a rebounder easier, and the Spor**** numbers back it up; Lopez's rebounds often come while fighting others for position, while Evans's are a result of Lopez clearing that space.
According to NBA.com, Brook Lopez grabbed 13.2% of all available rebounds when he was on the floor this season, ranking him 55th in the NBA among players with at least 50 games played and 20 minutes played per game. (Evans ranked first, by a wide margin.) The team as a whole grabbed a higher percentage of rebounds with Lopez on the floor (52.9%) than off (51.2%)Comment

Ugh don’t even get me started on Reggie Evans’ stat chasing ***.
Those were the ugly days of Brooklyn Basketball, don’t make me relive those, OJ lol#RespectTheCultureComment

I always liked him when he was here. Actually also thought the Lakers should of re-signed him. Would it provided a nice veteran and a outside shooter (with go to post moves). Fits right in with LeBron style.
I'll always remember Brook always getting away with the rip through lol

Speaking of logos, I'm still hoping Raptors change their logo one day.
The dinosaur logo leaving was fine, but I still feel like there was nothing wrong with their alternate at the time.Comment

At least 76ers aren't in Toronto long. Apparently Embiid was out at a club until past 1am. No secret NBA guys love going to parties and clubs in Toronto, specifically on weekends(Saturday nights are the more popular day, which is worse when they used to have 1pm Sunday games). Wonder how (if its true) that impacts his performance. He already has bad numbers vs Gasol on good nights.Comment
