    Nice

The Boston Celtics and French center Vincent Poirier have agreed to a two-year deal, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Poirier is a 6-foot-11 center who will provide additional front court depth in Boston, per Shams.

Are the 3 the Lakers would have three of the top 5 current players? Arguably. But what happens when they’re made to play 40 minutes a night because the bench is getting beaten up? None of them have particularly great recent injury history.

Yep, I've agreed with this line of thinking the entire free agency period.. However, I did say that Kawhi was the only max guy I would go all in for rather than depth.. So it's seems Rob might have my phone tapped.. jk

The issue overall is everyone had money to spend this year.. The building a deep team thing would have been difficult because even using all the cap would have landed them 2-3 solid players.. Most off-seasons maybe it would have been closer to 4-5 guys. In one example, Pat Bev and Thad young would have been 2 good targets, that would have been nearly all their free money this particular off-season.

On the other hand, if they miss on Kawhi there aren't many options left. Try to get someone like Marcus Morris and low level players left over with remaining money, or bring back everyone from last year and try to bring in guys with only the MLE and bi-annual. The latter would be the best of the two because at least that would get them Rondo, KCP, JaVale, possibly Lance, Morris would likely take a full MLE, maybe Boogie on the bi-annual or semething before it came down to minimum deals.

At this point the best bet is signing Kawhi and hoping for buyouts and pay cuts. If the remaining pieces look something like Rondo, Iggy, Korver, JR, Shump, Melo, Caruso, Williams, they'll have a decent enough bench, just limited youth. They would need a big to take a minimum deal, possibly sell Morris on the cap-room MLE with the promise that next year he'll get the full MLE or something.. Hope Danny Green would come with Kawhi, etc..

In that scenario, I don't think we'll see 40 a night from all 3 guys. Likely staggered minutes for them, and staggered rest games as well. Kuzma on the other hand might be out there playing 38 every night.

You know there was one move. I thought was nice. But I guess we'll see what happens.

Mario Hezonjia to Portland. A winning team. I saw flashes from him on the Knicks. But Knicks sucked so bad... Anything could look good lol. Don't mind me.

I really like what the Kings have done. I really hope it can all come together.

And the Pels have 6 Duke players on the team. Has to be the most one team has ever had right?

Yep, stepped over Giannis and swatted Bron. I do think he still has a lot of untapped potential in him.

They do need guards but with the sound of things cousins may only get the minimum any way.

It would suck, but they should think about moving Beal, stretching Wall (if possible) and starting over.

“More invested” is just a nicer way of saying he doesn’t care about the team.

The deal looks terrible in hindsight, but what was the alternative?

Letting a top 5 - 10 PG walk for nothing or trading him for lesser value?

Unfortunately, his body has given up on him and the Wizards are stuck with a horrible contract. They aren't the first team and won't be the last it happens to.

I can live with the Wall contract. It's all the other **** still hanging around from Ernie that we need to clear off.

Wizards are attempting to get a Disabled Player Exception for Wall next season.

I'm not ready to count him out yet. Obviously his speed will be nowhere near where it was, but that's fine. We just need him to control the pace, hit some mid-range jumpers, drive the lane, and get the ball to Beal (hopefully we have more shooters in a year).

I’ve never questioned the contract or argued otherwise.

I’m questioning his commitment to THIS team, which is fair to do so.

The stretch where Wall was hurt for like a month or two, Beal had the keys to the offense and the team started showing improved ball movement and started playing a lot better... Was that before or after the Wall extension?

Man I’m so tired of hearing dudes in here with this depth garbage talking about the Lakers and getting Kawhi. First of all just be clear, if the Lakers get Kawhi, they’re winning the championship. Period. It might not happen in year one, but it’s gonna happen during LeBron’s time in LA.

This depth stuff is ridiculous because at the end of the day they enter every playoff series with the 3 best players on the court and the team they play against‘s best player is the fourth best player in the series. Dudes get in here trying to use Golden State as an example of what happens when you don’t have depth as if ANY team in the league is gonna win a title when 3 starters go down in the postseason. Nobody is recovering from that. If anything GS is the proof of the power of 3 or more superstars being on the team at once.

Cut the crap about all this. You can sit Kawhi 10 games out of the year because you STILL have LeBron and AD for those 10 games. You can then give LeBron 10 games out of the year because you can play Kawhi and AD and be fine. You can give AD his 10 and run with LeBron and Kawhi.

That’s not even touching the fact that y’all talked up Kuzma and keeping him through this entire AD farce since February. Him and two of those dudes plus scrubs is more than enough to get in the playoffs which is all you need to do. Y’all in here talking like they’ll be scrapping for the 8th seed with Kawhi as if GS hasn’t just spent 3 *** **** years dominating the league with KD and Curry missing games all year with that garbage bench everybody was killing them for. So miss me with this depth garbage trying to play it off like the 3 of them together isn’t just as unfair as what GS just was.
