Re: Shaq vs. Hakeem, head to head

Shaq was not "chunky" at age 28. He was ripped. People just can't admit a guy can weigh 325 pounds and not be fat. And Shaq back then could guard Duncan without fouling out. And if Shaq could put up numbers equal to Hakeem at age 23, like I proved, it'd be easy at age 28 for Shaq. I don't care about your opinion. The only thing that is true is numbers. They don't lie. Some people out there claim Chucky Atkins is better than Jason Kidd, people can think anything. That's why you got to look at numbers. Face it, we use numbers all the time, when you talk about MJ, you bring up his points, rebounds, assists, steals, blah blah blah. \

By the way, at age 23, Shaq was 2nd team all nba. Hakeem was 3rd team that year. Interesting. And like I said, Shaq vs Hakeem, 28/12.5, 6.6 assists, vs. 32.8, 11.5, 5.5 assists. I don't see the difference. And shaq was 59.5 % from the field. Did I mention he was 23 at the time, and Hakeem was in his prime.

Re: Shaq vs. Hakeem, head to head

How old were you in 99-00? Did you see what I saw. Shaq was about 330 pounds, but quicker and more agile than he was at age 23. Shaq was the most unstoppable player in the last 30 years besides MJ. Shaq would've fouled out Hakeem first b/c Hakeem couldn't hold Shaq off the block at that point. Shaq was VERY AGILE at age 28, people just don't want to remember or admit it. Shaq was EASILY the MVP that year, there was NO CONTEST that season. How could somebody chunky win MVP and avg 30-13 and 3? Your full of crap. You got to lie to make your point. What's up with that. Shaq at age 28 was 10 times better than he was at 23, everybody but you understands that.

Shaq could guard Duncan without fouling out..... Shaq RARELY guarded Duncan and it was never over an entire game. They play/played different positions. Shaq would have to guard Hakeem and all the moves Hakeem would put on Shaq would put him in foul trouble.

Shaq had 1 more rebound and 1 more assists.
            Hakeem had 5 more points.

            There is a difference.......and oh yeah, Hakeem's team beat Shaq's team 4-0.

                    LMAO

Shaq was not quicker or more agile in 99-00 than he was in 94-95. Are you serious!??? He was the MVP, no doubt. I'm not disputing that. But what centers were his competition? An old Hakeem, an old Ewing, and old Robinson, an old Mutombo etc..... It was easy for Shaq to dominate when he didn't have any decent centers to match up with. Yes Shaq was the best player in the game then, by far. But Hakeem in his prime was still better than Shaq in his prime.

Do you not remember what Hakeem did to David Robinson (The MVP that year) in the playoffs?? Hakeem absolutely embarrassed him. He made D Rob look like a HS kid. If DRob, (way more athletic than Shaq ever was) couldn't stop Hakeem, what makes you think Shaq could stop him??

Wow, another worthless thread by you know who.

Shaq to me is/was the more dominant center in the middle, but they played different styles of center. Hakeem could hit jumpers which made him so deadly. He was also one of the fastest big me I've ever seen. Hakeem was also much more of a team player. I would take Hakeem in a heartbeat.

Jesus i cant believe we're having this conversation again its like every 2 or 3 months we have a gigantic Shaq vs Dream discussion. Hakeem was better then Shaq flat out its undeniable (Shaq himself admits that Hakeem was better). Olajuwon was nearly 7'0 tall and had the skills, speed, and handle of a guard all Shaq is (to be brutally honest) is a 7'0+ 370 pound monster who just pounds the **** out of the opposing post players. I dont think anyone (who knows basketball or has a functioning brain in their head) would pick Shaq in his prime over Hakeem. In fact i think some people might take Patrick Ewing over Shaq (i know my friends would). Although i could be bias because i grew up watching Olajuwon in his prime dismantle David Robinson, Ewing, and Shaq all in the span of like a year in the playoffs and i firmly believe that he is with out a doubt the greatest center in the history of the nba.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Shaq is strong, but to say that he only uses his strength is wrong.he's got great feet and that killer drop step. When he uses that on you...It's game over right there, cause you'll get dunked on.
