Also put some respect on MJ's name. He's been drafting well lately. Loved Charlotte's draft again. Bouknight is a bucket. Kai is intriguing. Very solid draft. Becoming a must watch team and likely playoff bound.

Think the Rockets had the best draft in my eyes. Liked everything they did. Green is pretty much an automatic to be a good player in this league. Christopher has massive upside despite a kind of disappointing season at AZ St. And Garuba is a very nice addition. They had a great draft.

How does Matthew Hurt not get drafted and Franz Wagner go in the top 10 though. I know Michigan was a better team, but Hurt was a higher rated prospect before college, recruited by nearly everybody, went to Duke and just lead the ACC in scoring shooting 56% from the field and 44% from 3. These are the type things I don’t understand.

Turns out the Raptors had to take Barnes at 4 instead of trade down.

OKC wanted to trade with Raptors to get Barnes at 4.

And Magic at 5 had interest too.

So guess that explains why Raptors couldn't trade down to pick him.

Also makes me wonder how bad his interviews might have been if multiple teams preferred Barnes over Suggs.

Guess time will tell if this was a good choice.

Honestly I feel like almost every team did well. Sacramento was a head scratcher, Knicks made some ehhh trades to move back but still got a great fit, Spurs I guess time will tell.. but it feels like every other team did really well. Even the Lakers who traded their pick and never was able to move up, down, or add a 2nd rounder still signed Reaves, Mac, Ayayi, and that’s about as good as you can do with no picks.

Like I’m trying to find a team that didn’t do something good and it’s hard to find one. Usually we’ve got a bunch of “horrible pick, “stupid trade”, “but why”, and “who” after the draft. Don’t really have that this year.

Now just watch this end up being some horrible draft after almost every team seemingly did the best they could [emoji23].

              NBA Draft 2021

Rockets also signed Jalen Tate, who I think can be a solid rotation piece in the league as well. He’s somewhat of a SGA type of player. Obviously not as good, but similar play style.

I need some summer league games next weekend to change my tune on this pick.

                I was a Suggs guy…..

I still think Suggs is the second best player in this draft. I wish the raptors would of drafted him. He fits perfectly in that system.

So I'm going to go with defense. From everything I've watched. Wagner rated pretty high defensively. As a help defender he was one of the best. Now for hurt I feel it was the same problems a player his size has moving his feet in pick and roll coverage. He needs a lot of work there.

While I agree, I feel there are a lot players now a days that have really good resumes. But fall through the cracks. Someone like Primo gets reached at 12 by the Spurs. Your like who? But at the end of the day. The Spurs organization got who they wanted. We all can talk **** and say bad pick. If there is any place for a player to develop it's there.

Barnes is no slouch. But I thought Toronto had to go after Suggs. Couldn't believe they didn't.

I think Barnes could be a really good player. I didn't know about his PG skills until a few weeks before the draft. The way you guys develop guys. I think this could turn out to be really good pick for you guys.

I think Barnes is a good pick too and could definitely be a core piece on their team for a long time. But with all due respect, Suggs would have been the best guard and probably the top pick in last year's draft. I think passing on him will be a mistake.

Oh saw this article. Sounds like he had a bad workout with the raptors

4,988 likes, 25 comments - draftexpress on August 2, 2021: "Thanks to his ability to guard the perimeter on the defensive end along with the fact that he can really handle and pass at 7-foot — and will eventually make 3’s, too — Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen could play together in a supersized frontcourt, according to @mikeschmitzscouting. A lot of size up front for the Cavs".

Really like the fit next to Allen, solid pick for them with Okoro, Sexton, Garland, already on the team.. Not sure what they are doing trading for Rubio but I'm expecting them to make some more moves.
