Lol damn, keep confusing the old regime.

Yeah I don't know or understand that pick there. Not sure he was on anyone's draft board. Probably won't come over to the US this year, if at all.

Edit: NBAdraft.net actually had us drafting him, but at pick 58 lol.

Ayo to the Bulls is a steal

I'm happy with the Butler pick but it's risky given his reported heart condition. Love him as a player though, if Conley stays then that's the perfect mentor for a guy like him

Heck of a pick for Atlanta and has a clear role on the team.

Boston to the Clippers is nice.. Always a chance that guy gets back on track. Was supposed to be a top 5 pick before his disappointing year at Kentucky. I feel like with the wild pace and shot selection he had he expected to be better, and Cal expected it too. There is talent there.

Not a bad draft for them at all. Especially for a team that has limited picks going forward. Johnson and Preston both drafted a bit later than projected, they did well tonight.

Btw with all the comparisons to some of these guys having a Jordan Clarkson type game, with it being a genuine compliment, it's really cool. He's come a long way

                          Re: NBA Draft 2021

I was fuming when the Spurs drafted yet another guard and possibly reached for Primo, but I've taken time to reassess their strategy a bit.

They desperately needed to add shooting and/or size in this draft, but only came away addressing one area of serious need.

Still, grabbing Primo (after selecting Vassell and Jones last Summer) allows them to possibly "re-set" their timeline and offload some of the older guards (Lonnie, DeJounte and/or Derrick) for draft capital, younger prospects or a big man.

Primo likely would've been a lottery pick next year and with his very young age (18) he's like taking a preps - to - pros player (with a year of college seasoning).

Hopefully the shot creation and playmaking he flashed at the NBA combine are things he can develop and replicate long - term.

It sucks to lose out on very intriguing prospects like Sengun and Moody, but Primo's shooting and very young age were things I guess SA couldn't pass on.

And I forgot to mention Wieskamp, who fits the current timelime and also brings deadeye marksmanship from three - point range that this team sorely needed.

Brooklyn and Houston had my two favorite drafts I think.

Cam Thomas has legit go-to scorer ability if it comes together for him; extremely deep shooting range and draws a **** ton of fouls. One of those high risk prospects because he wants to be a Booker/Kobe type of tough shot maker and those prospects just often aren't good enough at it to make it work in the NBA, but he has all-star potential if it does work out. He was my #9 prospect in the draft.

Day'Ron Sharpe is basically just a hustle rebounder right now but he has pretty good feel for the game too. I think Kevin O'Connor compared him to Kendrick Perkins if I remember right. Not particularly good on defense and just a flat out bad scorer right now.

Kessler Edwards is kinda reminiscent of Chandler Hutchison when he came out of Boise State. You obviously hope he works out better than Hutchison did, but he's an older combo forward that can play a 3nD role.

And then Marcus Zegarowski is Michael Carter-Williams' brother and has a case for being the best shooter in the draft class. Be it spotting up, shooting on the move, or pulling up off the dribble, he's a lethal shooter. Not really athletic or creative enough to create on his own, so if he does work in the NBA, he's either going to be off-ball or leaning heavily on the PnR to help create some separation.

For me Jalen Green was the best overall pick. I think his game will translate right away. Though I completely understand Detroit going with Cade.

Best steals of the draft -Ayo falling to Chicago. Kid is vastly underrated. With the right coaching he could be a star. I really never understood why he was so slept on. I think he'll be better then alot of guys picked before him.

Shariffe Cooper. Best passer in the draft easily. He's got vision you can't teach. Shaky jumper but he has scoring ability. Excellent No risk High reward pick for ATL.

Luke Garza to Detroit. Major steal. I think his offensive ability is gonna translate well to.the NBA. He has excellent footwork and high IQ. And an ever improving jumpshot.

And... Isiah Jackson to the Pacers. He might be better on the defensive end then Myles Turner in time. He has unreal shot blocking instincts. Reminded me of Nerlens Noel. He's a pogo stick that is extremely raw offensively. But he could be a LD defender for a long time.
