The good ol' Sam Dekker type that never amounts to anything, nice! lol

I actually agree with you, just not for a top 10 pick. I think he's a solid player but this feel VERY MUCH like a "look how well Duncan Robinson is doing" type of pick thrusting him into the lottery. IMO his brother was and is better at almost everything except being more guard-like.

He'd fit nicely on maybe Golden State, but most of the teams needing and looking for an influx of talent and potential should likely look elsewhere IMO.

Aside from his age what is the problem with Mitchell?

Our GM can't help it he has to get crappy value on trades and i can sense another one coming tonight. I thought he had learned from his earlier mistakes apparently he hasn't. Why the heck would we trade up for a big ?

I think If Cam went to the right team. He could get a really good chance to develop. I'd hate to see my name in this ****. Its obvious the Hawks are using his last 2 games from the playoffs as a carrot. I'm sure no team in the lottery will bite.

Definitely risk in that, though I would say with the Dekker comparison, Wagner is better in almost all those areas than Dekker was in college, particularly as a shooter, passer, and defender. Dekker's lackluster shooting ultimately flushed him out of the league pretty quickly.

As always, once you get outside the top 4 or 5, there's considerable risk with pretty much every prospect.

I think size. But he also looks like a product of other players moving up and he just not generating any off-season buzz since he didn't participate in the combine.

I don't necessarily believe all this personally, but I would imagine the people that are down on Mitchell point to the track record of taking prospects as old as he is in the lottery, especially those that only have one good year of production. On top of that, he's a poor free throw shooter and only has one season of good 3 point shooting to his name, so there's reason to think the shooting might not translate. And he's short and not particularly long so he might end up being good at defending PGs while struggling with any other position.

To me if you get a player like Wagner at 15-20 it's a great pick, but it also has to be the right org/team, one that plays smart and unselfish and has an actual system on both ends of the court.

His age doesn't bother me at all.

I just feel the mocks than had him as a late first round pick before he had like 2 good late season games and went far in the tournament and jumped to the top 10 were better mocks for him. I don't think he's a bad player by any means, guys that jump like that after a couple of decent games just always scare me.

I would feel safer had he consistently been viewed as a top NBA guy, he just hasn't. That paired with his size just concerns me that high in a draft. It seems many are assuming he's just a late bloomer destined to be the next Donovan type, but even Donovan was drafted 13th because most guys of that stature don't end up being what he is now. Expecting that to repeat here feels high risk.

He was like 80 something in the Nation as a recruit, transferred out of Auburn because he couldn't see the court. Goes to Baylor and plays good, not great though, and jumps to the top in the draft. It just feels like people are really putting a lot of stock into him being a late bloomer. Not sure I buy it enough to take him top 10.

I'm so happy others have answered this question. But like I said I still don't know what it is [emoji23]. I think someone did say the age and shooting. There is no denying his defense. Since you and a few others started saying his name. I started watching a lot of his games. Even past games.

He's going to be a great defender. Looks like Jrue Holiday/Marcus Smart. Marcus Smart is probably the best comparison overall.

Also big East, look at it this way. Is he's a big thing. You got a lot of post to quote to re post [emoji28]

Lots of 6'2 guys look like great defenders until they are forced into 10 pick and rolls to guard Giannis though lol.

I really just need to see how big/strong this guy looks on an NBA court. He plays defense like Smart, Dort, but I'm just not sure if he's as big and strong as those guys are.

I don’t think we’ll be in a position to get him but best believe I’m taking names..lol.

He would be solid for NY at 19, maybe even right outside the lottery to GS at 14. He's obviously in the top 10 of some mocks for a reason, could potentially be a good player for sure.. I just consider him a bigger risk without being a substantially higher reward. So when I was seeing him at like 8 on big boards I was thinking nahhh. Would be worth it if I felt he had superstar potential.
