Pack, I'm with you. You know I've been the biggest COVID person on these boards. I was against the bubble (and the all Star game). **** I just posted an article about Tatum trying to recover from it.

The only reason I'm for the game is because legit just year's was one of the best games of all time. It was like watching a hardcore pick game.

I just want it to be done safely.

      Agree!!

There is no reason to play the game. And put the players at risk.

The Jazz and Hawks comparison is so lazy.

Hell, the Bucks were no different and we never heard them get called the Atlanta Bucks.

I would definitely not compare the NFL to modern - day slavery, especially with the prison industrial complex (better) & colleg athletics (worse but still acceptable) as more apt comparisons.

The NFLPA has agreed to non - guaranteed contracts, so blame their union and leadership for "buckling" to that caveat. On the other hand, you also gotta remember that the NFL has way more roster spots and the chance of severe injury (career or life-threatening) is much, much higher.

Sorry I derailing the thread, but no Spurs for a while (maybe 2 weeks) & I want to participate. And I didn't watch any games last night.

              Nah, terrible comparison.

Gobert & Mitchell are better (IMO) than everyone on that Hawks team. And that isn't meant as a knock towards Horford, but this Jazz team could legitimately make it to the Finals.

Bucks are also a bad comp, Giannis is literally this generation's David Robinson/Kevin Garnett (SMDH) & several tiers above Horford, but they have to play better during the postseason or that comparison (2014 - '15 Hawks = modern Bucks) will continue.

Again, I agree I was being over the top. Just trying to put a light on the issue. But I think that's the difference. The NFL is a "get rid of them, replace them" mentality. I don't understand how the union buckles. You would think the contact sport would guaranteed these guys their money. The long-term health benefits of football aren't nice.

The union buckles because those discussions are more like "Here's what we're going to do" than a negotiation. They've tried, but the leverage situation is completely different on that side. I'd say Draymonds example of coverage on player/team situations is much more severe, far beyond some 'negative press'. In the NFL, and can actually be career altering.

The Hawks-Jazz comparison is 100% a troll job just to tune people up and it's a smart one because it will work.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

People are reading far too deep into it when they're getting into comparing players from that Hawks squad and this year's Jazz squad.

It's a meme on the simplest of levels that means nothing more than "best record in the conference but will get swept by LeBron/won't make the finals/not a real contender" etc etc. It's really not that deep at all.

But that Atlanta team was a team that in large nobody really took serious, and I don’t think Utah is comparable in that sense. Plenty of 1 seeds have had the best record in the conference and ended up losing before the finals but they aren’t being compared to them they are being compared to Atlanta.

So it's a meme, and you agree that it's a troll job, but yet you say "It's true though nobody is scared of them" as if we wouldn't have smacked the Clippers last year

Jazz are a tough match-up for both LA teams. Lakers would have the edge IMO, while I think we would beat the Clippers, but we'll see how it shakes out
