Random but it’s so weird seeing people compare the NBA to NFL with player agency. People acting like the NFL is ruled with an iron fist and all I remember is headlines every training camp about another guy holding out for a new contract.

Because the NFL is. It's simple. The NFL has non guaranteed contracts. D'Angelo Hall comes to mind (vs Al Davis). I've called it slavery a few times. You want players to fulfill their contracts. But on the other hand you can cut a player at any moment.Last edited by jeebs9; 02-17-2021, 07:46 AM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

It’s just like when Harriet Tubman held out for a guaranteed contract but her owner denied it, so she retired and started the Underground Railroad.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

I fell asleep on the game when it was 70-48 with 2 mins in the 2nd.
Helluva comeback win with Kyrie or Kevin.#RespectTheCultureComment

I can already hear the “Randle got robbed” comments coming from a mile away if he doesn’t get chosen in this meaningless game.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2/9 - 2/22 Games Discussion Thread
The whole reason the is being played is because of money. Every sport cancelled their event. Wouldn't be shocked if the NBA All Star game raked in the most cash of all All-Star games in other sports. Anyone? I was being dramatic. But it's not guaranteed. They can cut a player anytime they want. The only thing a player gets is his signing bonus.Last edited by jeebs9; 02-17-2021, 10:08 AM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

I would vote Randall in the all star game though I could be biased as he just scored a million points on Atlanta last game.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

And I know the why the game is being played, but that doesn’t make it anymore important.#RespectTheCultureComment

I can already hear them complaining about LaVine not making it over Jaylen Brown and Bradley Beal.

I think there is always some level of concern with more balanced teams like this, but Mitchell is a notch above the typical “go to” guy on teams like this. He can make the plays to win you close games.
I think Conley is a much more proven playoff guard than Teague, and the punch off the bench from Clarkson and Ingles is something you typically don’t have with teams that have a more balanced starting 5.
In terms of their SRS and relative offensive and defensive ratings they are a big notch ahead of what Atlanta finished that year, a bit above the Detroit teams, I think the hope for them is they can be more like San Antonio was around those 2012-14 years.
I believe they can be a dangerous playoff team. That’s not to say Denver couldn’t beat them again, or the Lakers and Clippers stars might be too much for them, but they definitely aren’t a team any of them want to see. A big chunk of postseason success is always experience and adjustments though. Bucks have been just as good, even better, and haven’t been able to adjust in the playoffs to win games when teams take away what works for them. Utah still has to prove they can, from players to coaching.

Assuming he keeps this up it'd definitely be a snub if he didn't make it.
I seriously doubt it, but hopefully the NBA decides against even playing the actual game.
Even so, he deserves the honor for his level of play, which is something that matters to these guys moreso than the bread they get from it.

Yeah I think just voting the All-Stars but not actually playing the game just makes more sense right now.
