Yea he would be as I don't think yall have a true 4. John would be incredible on any team he is a 20 & 10 guy that shoots 40% from 3. He is also super athletic and still very young and is now a quality defender. He doesn't get plays ran for him so with all that said he could fit into any team and can play a little bit of the 5. He also always plays hard and is energetic likeable guy. He doesn't have any injury history only missing games for the drug suspension.

Name me another player with all of things that I said or close to it that team didn't pay ?

This was why I continue to bash our GM as someone is going to throw him the max this summer. I would think Atlanta just matches the offer even if deep down you don't want to. I mean surely you don't just let him leave for nothing. In San Antonio case you could do a sign and trade of some sorts for one of your G's. This shouldn't be complicated they should have paid him and cut out all of the drama. Because Gallo isn't the answer at the 4 he looks washed up.

He would be incredible on the Spurs. I'm hoping we offer him something y'all can't or won't match.

If someone wants to throw him a Max contract then let them. If the GM decides to match it even if he doesn’t want to and is only doing it because he doesn’t want to lose him for nothing, then he’s a damn fool for matching it.

Might as well put him on the trade block and hope you get a good offer for him.

Yea I get that, but Atlanta can’t trade him mid season because if the playoffs aren’t made the GM and coach will be fired.

When you add in whatever you would get back in a trade mid season and a bunch of key players still hurt. It’s just to confusing to make a mid season trade when it’s playoffs or bust in this odd season with no practice time.

So your only 2 options are match the max/ near max offer or do a sign and trade this summer.

I could see the benefit to both though.. you could sign and trade him later but you could also send him out now with the Rondo and Snell contracts to get a player of that near max caliber right now. Or get someone who’s maybe even cheaper than what they would have to sign and trade him for.

I get they need to make the playoffs, but also trading him doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t make the playoffs and win games. The return for him wouldn’t have to be assets, it could be players that help them make the playoffs this season.

Definitely aren’t in a position where they have to move him, but I would for sure be shocked if they aren’t at least fielding offers.. especially if any rumors of he and Trae not necessarily fitting well are true.

Just making up random stuff that keeps them productive in a hypothetical sense but say Jerami Grant and Delon Wright for Collins, Rondo, Snell? Who knows if guys like Towns or Beal finally pop up in talks. Something like Rozier, Washington/Bridges, Biyombo... Aaron Gordon, MCW, Bamba..

Collins with matching contracts and a first would go a long ways in my opinion. Not many guys play at Collins level without being high usage guys that you can lock in to their first long term deal.

Ojeleye on fire tonight. I love how him and his like Grant Williams. You can't just leave them any more. They been putting work on that end of the floor.

Im just not trading Collins I don’t care what the offer is that’s how much I think of him. I pay him the max and move on. The fact that every team wants him tells you what his value would be.

The tricky part with Atlanta’s high $ contracts is it’s hard to trade them as they all just signed. The PR of moving them could look bad. In general none of the newly signed guys are playing all that well. Snell is a expiring 11 million and has played good the last few games he easily gets added to any big trade.

The rondo contract is awful, but it’s 7.5 million next year so worst case scenario you just cut him and move on after this year. I think we can trick a team into trading for him if you throw in a 2nd. Since playoffs are the goal I don’t see him getting moved unless he asks for one.

Bogdan is hurt and when he played was awful and also has a 15% trade kicked In his deal. Gallo hasn’t looked good this year and becomes a lot more tradable next year. Clint is needed for defense. The G spot it’s hard to tell what you have with Dunn yet to play and Bogdan injured so much as well.

We wouldn’t need Bamba as we have the rookie 6th pick as the backup C. I’m sure Atlanta would want Issac from the magic if your spit balling. Rozier I don’t believe can defend so him and Trae wouldn’t work.

He should get fined I doubt he will. Refs don’t want to call dead ball fouls with the game on the line that’s the way it’s been forever.



It’s not the refs fault Trae couldn’t man up and hit a shot with the game on the line like real star players do. Instead he tried to take the easy way out and flop. This was after Brunson torching him for like 5 straight possessions.

True but we also know that GMs LOVE to overpay on guys who aren’t superstars. Look at the offer sheets that Marks threw at guys like Otto Porter, Allen Crabbe and Tyler Johnson back during the money spending spree of 2016. He’s done a lot of good for us but he got very lucky that those teams matched those offer sheets other wise we could very easily be in a different situation right now.

It’s easy to say pay him the max and then move on but when he’s not performing like he’s getting paid, then you’re stuck with a bad contract that’s difficult to move and nobody wants unless you attach draft picks to it. Contract Year-itis is a real thing, which is why I’d caution on giving him a Max contract just because it’s better than losing him.
