I agree that the three point shot fouls are ridiculous, though. But still, you gotta be disciplined in your close outs, can't just jump full force toward a guy or else you can guarantee he'll bait you into a foul. Just the way the game is right now

Jumping at a guy and making contact is a foul.

Guys doing the pump fake, then the guy jumps, then they jump into him, shouldn't be a foul.

I'm agreeing with you, it's stupid, but the defense has to stay more disciplined. I've seen so many worse calls this year where guys jump 3 feet to their left/right to make contact with a defender flying past them, Mitchell had an egregiously bad one against Philly

Like I said though, gotta stay disciplined. At that point Boucher is best off with a soft close out instead of selling hard and biting on the pump fake when Conley had 5+ feet of open space on the catch. I know the gameplan last night was to run us off the line and be physical inside (and it shows in the FT disparity) but at that point you gotta play the numbers game and make him hit the shot instead of gifting an excellent FT shooter three FTs

TIL Joe Ingles is having the most efficient shooting season of all-time

Kudos to Joe but there has got to be a minimum number of shots or something before someone makes a graphic like that. All those seasons listed are far more impressive than a guy who takes 7 shots a game, only 2 of them being inside the 3 point line, and I’m assuming the vast majority of them being wide open lol.

Joe is a great shooter though no doubt, has been for a few years now but on another level from outside this season.

You're reading too much into it lol think they just included the other players simply as a baseline mark to look at

It wouldn't be as cool to say, "oh hey Joe Ingles is having the best shooting season of all-time. Let's look at the other best shooting seasons of all-time; Mitchell Robinson 72.6%, Tyson Chandler 70.8%, Artis Gilmore 70.2%, Kyle Korver 69.8%, Rudy Gobert 69.8%"

Actually... looking at it now it's more impressive that most of his shots come from the three. Almost all of the top seasons in TS% aside from Korver have been from big men who almost strictly shoot just layups, dunks and free throws

It wouldn't be as cool but it would be more accurate because even though the shots came differently (dunks vs threes) they are more comparable as in large part it was offense created for them rather than having to generate a bulk of shots themselves, aside from maybe Gilmore.

I would say yes and no to the threes being more impressive. Yes in the sense that it's a bit more difficult to knock down shots than it is to be 7feet tall and catch the ball under the rim and dunk. No in the sense that a three will raise your TS% more than a two will and you don't have to make them at nearly as high of a clip. That's why pretty much everyone else high on the list Korver, Kerr, Legler, Duncan Robison, etc are guys who take primarily open threes and make them at high rates.

The guys posted in that graphics aren't in either one of those ball parks. Those are some of the most efficient scoring seasons of all time given the volume and type of shots. The stat itself more so reflects that Joe Ingles is making more open threes than Steve Kerr in 1996, not that he's a scoring efficiency machine like peak MJ lol. They knew what they were doing making the graphic like they did, and it's silly.

I'm digging KCP's hair, but not enough for them not to trade his *** since he's fallen off a cliff since the bubble.

LeBron hitting one more three on a bum ankle to keep his 10+ scoring streak alive was some personal level clutch ****. If he misses that streak ends, he couldn't have stayed in for another look.

Ohh I know what it is, that was my point too. They could have used the names like Korver, Kerr, Robinson, etc and represented the type of season he's having a bit better though IMO.

He was never gonna win. The voters are about newer narratives and they think he already has enough MVPs.
