Im a new guy, but Ive been observing this board awhile and...

Im just curious why ppl are so divided between the 2 games. Its seems that Live fanboys can admit NBA 2k3 is a better game and vice versa. Yet it seems that what we all really want is a good basketball game. I just think instead of trying to convince one another which game is the best. Lets just realize that everyone has a different opinion on what a basketball game should be. There is NEVER going to be one perfect game. Thats why the different companies make games that cater to different ppl with different views of basketball. If that wasnt the point, all the companies would make the same kind of game. Then we would all be complaining about how all games are the same. What game do I have? I have NBA 2k3 cuz Im a statistics freak and I live deep, deep franchise modes.

I do believe you in that no two games are the same but what it is, is that LIVE is for younger players who like highlight reels and NBA 2K3 is for older players who knows how a basket ball game should be played.
I own live but will get 2K3 tommorow because i'm a stat junkie also who wants to see real stats like in the paper not my entire team leading the league in blocks and steals.

.... I am 18 years old, but i love 2k as well. They are all fun to play. I think the difference between them is when you play 2k, it's fun for you, but the guys who sit beside you and watching your play will be bored...(This actually happened while i was playing 2k2).
I guess if you play Live 2003, there would be a bunch of people around you enjoying your play.

Graphik, if you want real stats from 2K3 you'll be playing full 12 minute quarters. The game is so slow that I get bored playing, not watching. Both of the games out so far are lame. Live is better in that it's actually somewhat enjoyable. I feel bad for any of you with PS2 because you won't be able to play what will be the best hoops game this year. By the way Graphik, if you think that 2k3 is the way basketball should be played, you need to turn off your console and watch a game or two.

Remember that one basketball game for atari where it was 2 stick figures shooting a sqaure ball into a stick basket?

Anyway besides that, I'll take that back.
Live is for players who after watching a game go to school /work the next day and say "did you see that dunk Tracer McGrady did yesterday and that cross Jay Williams did"
And 2K3 is for players who on the next day after a game spend 30 minutes looking at box scores and standings and at school/work have a long debate on why a team lost and what they could of should of done to win all the while reciting stats and profiles and comparisons.
Yea I saw that dunk T Mac had but they still lost.

Did any one read that I had 2K3, because i dont. I have always stood by live even through the bad times and Yes, I believe the game is fun but its a poor representation of basketball. Playing against freinds this weekend it was truley a blast but the scoring was very unrealistic. And like I said earlier, I'm a stat junkie who wants the real. And based off what i've been reading 2k3 has the real downpack which is exactly what I'm looking for. I like the slow paced game. the Nba is usually slow paced until there is a momentive shift then the pace picks up and I know how basketball is played, I've had the NBA seaon pass on digitle cable for two years now and every team does'nt play like Sac-Town or Dallas.
Playing the computer in live every one including the bulls will run fast pace on ya. I,ve got good D but the computer does'nt care, Give the ball to the main scorer and watch him piss all over your team. Sometimes players off the bench will give you free urine samples.

But I'm going to keep live and use it only when I have company.

You know what. I gonna keep live play more because all this stuff i've been reading bout both games. It seems that both games have problems and both are fun. Besides, I really dont wanna wast my money on another basketball game. I'm gonna do what alot of players suggested and fool around wt my ratings until I get what I'm looking for.

Yeah no kidding. When I read over that post from Graphik I was thinking how damn stupid he sounds. Can't a person go "ooh" and "ahh" over a sick dunk and still follow all the statistics and standings? I guess not.
