It was the 2011 season with the Heat. Went to the post before. But you could tell he wasn't comfortable down there. I think Giannis is facing the same problems right now. Probably workouts down there a lot. But it hasn't come together for him. That's why I give so much credit to Spo. He got in their ears after they lost.

True but the criticism of that always felt so unfair. Like it was easy for him to transition to that playing with D Wade, the Cavs could never realistically take him away from the ball with that roster though. Especially not when Big Z and Drew Gooden were two of their best players. People just couldn’t grasp that, it was a “hey he’s big he should post”..

Regardless for Bron he would have had to have McHale level footwork inside to ever offset how great he was out of the post. That wasn’t going to happen.

I don't know if Giannis will ever develop a post or mid range game...but his drive is so deadly he has guys flat footed in the lane trying to anticipate the contact. Imagine being able to rise up for a little floater or push shot in those cases. That's something he can realistically rep/develop in the off-season

That was Bron’s adjustment against Hibbert when the Heat couldn’t score. For a few games out there he was a 6’9 Tony Parker lol. To me that makes much more sense than trying to force Giannis to play back to the basket where he can’t make those kick passes, or try to make him a deadly midrange guy that he will likely never be.

I love what Giannis did there. Give it up and run that pick and roll

I think Giannis needs a real disappointment to convince him to develop his bag more. LeBron didn’t have a post game at all in his first time in Cleveland and won 2 MVPs, it wasn’t until he lost in 2011 that he worked on it because Dallas just shut him down driving and outside. Other teams had done that to him but not in the finals and I think that pushed him. Could be the same for Giannis.

KD must feel like he's back in OKC but without Westbrook

I remember that...Bron still doesn't use those shots nearly enough IMO. Kawhi, Durant, Doncic all have it as a weapon.

So the Clippers and Suns are the only fully healthy teams?

Yep he got away from that when he started using those running hooks and the one leg baseline fades and runners (Toronto game winner).. now he really doesn’t use any of them much, but I think some of that is a product of getting the ball to AD rather than putting his head down to drive and kick.

It would suck if the injury changes the course of the series. That's a likely "2-3 week " injury. So that'll likely put Irving out for the first couple games of the next series, if they advance. Unless Harden is close to coming back, I don't think Nets have the depth without Harden and Irving.
