All players have limitations and some can be more easily exploited come playoff time. Especially in a league that is so reliant on perimeter shooting more and more, while making rules that hinder big men and inside play.

Not too hard to understand....

I remember your hero LBJ getting spanked, embarrassed and swept in the '07 Finals when his jumper was shaky.

Can't recall anyone calling him a "fraud," though.

Right, that's when the coach needs to adjust further and go small (as annoying as it is).

That doesn't mean Rudy is a "fraud" because his 7'2" frame is unable to guard the perimeter or make his DPOY meaningless.

Just that the Jazz aren't built to go small, or are unwilling to, and it caught up with them again.

Not to not give him props, but I don’t think he did a whole lot worth noting. Like he didn’t do a bad job or anything like that, but Reggie and Mann just going insane and killing their isos wasn’t really any sort of adjustment from him.. he played smaller lineups but that’s what literally everyone does to the Jazz come playoff time.

Edit: I was actually somewhat surprised they all of a sudden started kicking their *** with minimal adjustments. Even mentioned that after last game. Utah for whatever reason wanted to play the 3 point chucking game.

During that 17-0 run in the 3rd we just kept jacking:

Bojan Bogdanovic misses 27-foot three point jumper
Donovan Mitchell misses 33-foot step back jumpshot
Joe Ingles misses 27-foot three point jumper
Jordan Clarkson misses 25-foot three point jumper
Jordan Clarkson misses 25-foot three point jumper
Joe Ingles misses 26-foot three point jumper

Most of them weren't bad shots, they were open, but I mean you've got to start driving to the rim at some point and slow down their momentum. Missed three after missed three leads to transition opportunities and the Clippers essentially running with no big men on the floor were able to take advantage of us not being set-up defensively, not that setting up defensively was even doing us any favors either

Play small ball right back at them. Not like Rudy was giving us anything this game anyway.

Gobert -21 in 42 minutes tonight. Favors +12 in 6. Probably should've gone with Favs a little more, he looked pretty good early, don't know why we wouldn't try him out at least for a couple runs in the 2nd half

It's not going to happen. But Rudy desperately needs to develop something on offense if he's not going to be traded, and he probably won't. But he needs something, I don't care what it is

His offensive game is just like Giannis except slower and less coordinated. All he can do is blitz the rim and dunk. Teams just take advantage of it and get away with exploiting him defensively with 5-out. If he could force the other team to keep a big man on the floor with him, he'd be just fine

I don't care what it is that he develops. A hook shot. A corner three. A 15 footer. Just something man. Please. Lol
