    Re: dunk contest

i think you guys are sleeping on JR smith.... dude can get up and he is about 6-5 to 6-6. He is not THAT big (kinda around vince's height or a bit smaller). I like the picks of the Smith's and Anderson isnt that bad but they need to get more guards/SMALL forwards.

If there were some kind of strength meter or if it was a "dunk ON YOU contest" then Amare would be a good choice. This years is gonna be bad again overal, but i think the Smith's should provide some excitement.

Lebron more or less is the savior of the NBA. Im not saying in a MJ kind of way exactly but with Kobe banging little girls in the booty and being a brat and breaking up a potential dynasty..on top of that he WAS the heir aparent to the MJ throne. Then you got Gangstas runnin arond the league, some of which who need therapy ala Ron Artest.... Lebron James is the NBA's biggest and brightest and most overal talented star. Hes got ALOT of power in his hands now and he knows it.

On another note..im kinda tired of seeing 6-9, 6-10, and 6-11 footers in the dunk contest. Thier dunks just dont look as good as shorter players. When you are 6-3 ala Stevie Franchise and you got mad hops, your dunks just look more impressive cuz there is more of an illustion of elevation there. We want to see high flyers. Not people who can stand on thier tippie toes and dunk a ball.

              Re: dunk contest

J.R. Smith will win the dunk contest easily. He has some crazy hops and good coordination in the air similar to that of Jason Richardson. Josh Smith is an in-game dunker... he said that himself.... and Anderson and Amare are too tall to win.

I believe J.R. will try the 360 degrees between the legs dunk he tried in the high school contest which he missed.... he will win it unless he misses all of his dunks.

Amare can dunk. People thought that because he was a big guy in the mcdonalds dunk contest that he would do boring dunks but he did some nice ones.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

And there you have it in a nutshell.

That is why this thing has sucked and why alot of guys sit it out. What more can you do? The human body can only do so much and Vince, J-Rich and the guys before have achieved that. There's not much more creativity you can do anymore.

And LeBron is not a showman dunker. He is best in-game. He has the athletic ability and hops to be great at it but that's not his spot. Now back in the day when Jordan and 'Nique were winning, LeBron would've been perfect.

So you're saying lebron doesnt have the heart, motivation or love for the game..? That's quite a shame on your part. From what I remember... the allstar weekend is to award players for their accomplishments on the first half of the season, along with the whole popularity thing. This IS for the FANS. Also from what I know.. Lebron is already in two events (sophmore/rookie game and regular all star game) where he's already going to please the fans.

Would I like to see him in the event? Surely, who wouldn't, but come on .. calling him out like that.. horrible.

Yeah but that was HS. You see the one he was in last year (or was it two years ago)? He did pretty bad compared to everyone else.
