Seems like every player has his career night at MSG.

Wiz Kids off to solid start after the first 10 games [emoji1476]

Unseld has them defending so far too. Can’t wait to see them when Rui is inserted into the rotation.

Add Embiid to the growing list of Sixers players in health and safety protocols. At 4 players now.

I'm really curious to see what they do with all their frontcourt players once Rui and Bryant are back in the picture. That's just a lot of dudes that are all pretty decent.

Rui I could see getting minutes as Deni and Bertans have just been mehh. I figure Rui will back up Kuz and also Kuz/Rui get some minutes at that 3 spot as well. Expect Kispert, Deni, Bertans to all drop some minutes, perhaps even shopped around a bit for trades.

Tough to see Bryant get back into the mix IMO. Gafford seems to be their mainstay as a true "big", and Trez is still one of the best per minute performers in the entire league yet again. I feel like he's locked at 6th man. Not that Bryant is a bad player, but I feel like for him to take Trez's minutes he would need to be a significantly better defender and I don't believe him to be that.

I said it the other day but I feel like Washington would be missing a big opportunity if they aren't really hitting the trade market this year. Bertans is basically out of the mix now and pairing him with either Bryant/Trez gets them to 25ish mil in tradable salary. If they are aiming for the playoffs then picks are a bit expendable, and they have solid young assets like Rui/Deni/Kispert to sweeten the pot as well.

I'd probably want to hang on to Rui, although it depends on the return as always, but if Washington could use that salary + picks + maybe Deni or something to land an All-Star caliber SF they could make some serious noise this year.

Which is a good problem to have because before, they had a lot of dudes that were average/mediocre.

It’s 10 games in and while things are good SO FAR, it’s only a matter of time before the injury but starts hitting this team and starts taking guys out, especially ones at key positions.

They don’t need to consider moving guys or picks right now or in the near future just because. THIS team still isn’t close and they’re not a missing piece away from making some faux-deep playoff run so they don’t need to consider moving anyone right now. I’ve seen them do that too many times only to fall right back to Earth and look like the “same old Wizards” again and I’m tired of it, lol.

Which is why I’m not paying Armchair GM OJ no mind with these “proposals” he keeps throwing out every time I bring up the Wizards. Go do that **** with the Lakers or Knicks or Bulls [emoji23]

Hahaha I was waiting for this.

Bulls need a better effort from Ball shooting wise.

I kind of can't wait to see LaVIne/DeRozan vs Harden/KD.

I've caught myself watching KD "all possessions" (I missed the game) Even his misses look good [emoji23].

To be fair I’m only arm-chair GM where it makes sense lol. And to be fair again it’s easy to have injuries every year with guys like John Wall and Otto Porter who are, well, always injured.

I just see no reason for them to stand pat and fight for a last seed first round exit loss if there is a chance for them to upgrade. I don’t imagine teams like Milwaukee, Boston, Atlanta are going to be behind them at seasons end. And I don’t consider them to be separated from teams like Chicago or New York either. But they have a chance to be, and have a chance to do it before Beal’s contact ends.. Which would give him more reason to stay.

All of this assumes a player that could help them would even become available. There is no guarantee in that. I’m not saying they need to jump the gun and make any trade they possibly can lol. This isn’t 2k.. But if they aren’t fielding offers for guys who are 9th, 10th men on their team using picks that if they improve enough to contend won’t matter anyways then they are just flat out being poorly ran.

If you flip 25 million in salary for a player who’s actually worth it then injuries don’t sting as much anyways. If a key player gets injured and you’re replacing him with more minutes to Bryant and Bertans vs say more touches for Siakam/Ingram (just making up a player who fits money wise not saying they can get them) then it’s clear to see how a trade benefits them more whether they are healthy or injured.

Where they stand currently is similar to where Phoenix stood before making a trade for Chris Paul. I’m sure any time a key player (like Saric) gets injured for Phoenix they aren’t sitting back thinking “I sure wish we had Oubre and Rubio right now for depth instead of Chris Paul”.

Losing Bryant, Bertans, Deni, Krispert, picks doesn’t hurt them much if their depth is still:

                      Gafford/Trez
                      Kuz/Rui
                      Insert starter/KCP
                      Beal/KCP/Neto
                      Dinwiddie/Holiday/Neto

Can’t pretend that this is destroying their depth. And they don’t even have to swing for a star. They could pair those guys with picks to add players like Hield or Gordon to play 6th man for Beal. They can upgrade the depth. Why hang on to guys who aren’t going to crack your rotation regardless when you have assets to improve?

                        1. Uhh injuries were hitting them hard before Wall and Porter, sir. We’re talking like 20-30 years worth of evidence with THIS franchise, lol.

                        2. Beal ain’t going nowhere so I’m not worried about that.

But they’re fine right now, man. I can see if this was 2-3 straight years of this, then yeah. But in Year 1? There’s no need for them to start making significant moves just yet.

Standing pat is not a bad thing, it’s only a bad thing when you’re not making progress for 2-3 years with the same coaching staff/players. This ain’t them yet.

Cavs’ G Collin Sexton to be out with a torn meniscus and Sixers’ C Joel Embiid to be out the next 10 days unless he returns 2 negative Covid Test results in 24 hrs, per Shams.

I think it would be wise to at least gauge the market on some of these guys but I largely agree; they shouldn’t feel the need to rush anything.
