If this had been Harden or Steph or Draymond or Westbrook or Embiid or Butler, there still would be discussions going on, blood or no blood.

The league would never fine a player 33 percent of his take home salary for raging and not leaving the floor in a timely manner unless he caused great bodily harm or literally incited a riot that came to fruition.
Isaiah Stewart has been suspended for two games and LeBron James has been suspended for one.
More than likely, the only fine will be Stewart's forfeiture of game salary, which I'm guessing would be in the tens of thousands and no where near the hundreds of thousands.
Yep. That's what makes it hard to paint every situation with a broad brush. Nuance, circumstances, appearances, and results always matter, even if we wish they didn't.
In this case, this was a high profile event with a moderate amount of shock value to the common fan. LeBron, the blood, the assistant coaches hitting the deck, Mason in the background imploring fans to stay in their seats lest they be fined, arrested, and banned for life, and a player who seemed to lose his mind a bit, albeit temporarily and thankfully with little physical consequences.
The league knows all that and they know it's got to be different than the inadvertent hand swing absorbed by Danny Fortson that results in no visible injury and a mostly normal altercation.Last edited by VDusen04; 11-22-2021, 06:24 PM.Comment

It’s nonsense.
2 games for going after a guy. Not swinging. Not even connecting. I’d file a grievance. He’ll lose but just for the principle.
If he’s gonna get 2 games and lose money then he should’ve made it worth it by dropping someone lol.
