Luke warm take, but part of me feels like the Clippers might be better off if Kawhi took a secondary role offensively and used that energy to get back to being the best defender in basketball. I feel like PG just naturally accepts higher ball handling responsibilities and frankly Kawhi is a better catch and shoot player than him and had some of his best moments in San Antonio not handling the ball quite as much.. won that title with Lowry having that role to a degree at times as well.. Clippers have been unable to pair the team with much playmaking forcing he and PG into more iso situations than ideal, but I feel like giving more of those to PG and more off ball to Kawhi fits them and the team slightly better..

I’m not saying take a largely reduced role, he’s their best player, just maybe less of these half court iso situations going to him. PG has been fantastic basically since he went down, and I think just naturally embraces that role dating all the way back to Indy. And he’s just not comfortable looking when he plays that spot up role.

Right?! This one is a little different. But agree

BJ Boston what a steal for the Clippers. Another wing to develop.

Portland is slightly favored over Chicago tonight. I may have to cash in on that. What you think King? Yall gonna blow them bums out or what?

Have to give Lonzo credit for working on his game. Ben Simmons should take notes.

You know it's going to be a wild season when the Washington Wizards are tops in the east. Unreal.

Well I've mentioned it here before. Lonzo still needs work in my opinion. When he doesn't play will. It shows.

I keep seeing this on social media and I don’t think it’s really all that accurate to the players and situation.

Lonzo was always a shooter, he took threes in HS, in college (over 5 a game over 40%), and he came into the league launching threes as well. Obviously he needed to refine his form and get better but it was never a part of his game that didn’t exist. He never lacked that confidence and didn’t have to change who he was. He just needed to get better like most rookies do.

That’s not Ben’s case. Ben has never been a shooter, never taken those types of shots with regularity. He attempted just 3 three pointers in 33 college games. It was never a part of his game, he was never confident in it. Ben Simmons has gotten better as a player, he’s become maybe the best perimeter defender in the entire league, he’s become a great passer, and a great finisher as he finishes around the rim just as well as guys like Zion and Giannis.

They both got better at their own games. Expecting Ben to become a good shooter in comparison to Lonzo is like saying Embiid didn’t work on his game because he doesn’t pass like Jokic. Lonzo becoming a good shooter was never him having to change who he was as a player, do things he wasn’t comfortable doing, it’s just a bad comparison in that sense IMO.
