I know, right? I saw the exact same thing and just muted the tv, picked up my bong and turned over to this Bucks/Rockets game.

It was good to hear Hubie Brown doing the commentary again at least. lol

LeBron finally showing his age at 37 and still not being the biggest issue for the Lakers is a problem.

Anthony Davis has been terrible pretty much since they won the championship. It’s like he checked out after that because he’d done what he set out to do.

Then the roster is just bad. Talent is there, to an extent, but there hasn’t been any consideration to how they would all fit together. I’ve been critical of the Lakers summer pretty consistently all season so far and we’ve seen bad starts from LeBron teams (Cavs we’re 19-20 at one point in his first year back) but he can carry them back into the playoffs. I’m just not seeing that being possible now.

I have the Lakers missing the playoffs this year. A combination of age, injuries and them not being able to keep up with younger teams. Lebron cannot carry like he used to.

I just don’t understand how they have AD at his prime, and added Russ and still have glaring issues with no LeBron. Like they are needing him to play 38 minutes and drop 30 a night just to compete in some of these games… at 37.. in the 10 minutes he sat against Memphis they got outscored by 15 points. When he has a bad game (like he did against Memphis) but they are awful when he sits on top of that they really don’t have much of a chance.

Idk what AD’s thing is. I don’t blame him like Chuck, I don’t think he’s even playing all that bad, but it’s just like he doesn’t really just move the needle unless he’s playing like a top 5 guy. I guess we got enough of a sample with that in New Orleans with them always being mediocre at best but it’s still surprising to me comparing it to how he looked just two years ago.. it’s weird because there are stats that depict him as both the worst shooter in the entire league but also the best post scorer in the entire league. But it’s like mentally he just can’t make the changes to play to the strengths consistently.

Russ was always a weird fit but that dynamic seems to be improving. He’s not a shooter but they weren’t a great shooting team starting AB and Green two years ago, or Schroder last year, so I don’t think it really matters if they just improve elsewhere. They just haven’t yet. He’s won them games late this year but he obviously is just another good player rather than a guy who makes AD better like I thought he would. Don’t necessarily blame him for that though, he pairs well with the other bigs.

Frank is an awful fit as a coach if the team isn’t better defensively. Definitely not on board with the “fire Frank” crap but watching them this year it’s understandable why he’s on the “hot seat” per rumors. He makes no adjustments, and seemingly just can’t motivate these guys and this roster lacks the grindy play hard type of players.

Role players are just horrible. In theory they got a few shooters, some size, some solid defenders, but none of it just clicks together. Wouldn’t all be shocked if Nunn and Ariza start when they get back as bad as that sounds. They have nobody to bother shooters, and nobody nobody who gives consistent offense either. Avery Bradley was never even supposed to play and he’s a starter now.. I don’t understand Bazemore, game 1 he was out there defending Steph, getting decent looks, showing he could make some decent passes and put the ball on the floor if needed, since then he’s looked like Solomon Hill.

On top of all that it’s a new roster, on top of injuries, on top of LeBron injuries, on top of new coaches, on top of 12 different starting line-ups this year already, that’s a horrible mixture even for the best teams with no issues.. much less a struggling team. Would suck to see them move another promising young player but once they see if Nunn is a guy they truly see a future with, if they answer is no I see them pairing his and THT’s contract for some guy around that 20 mil mark to try and right the ship.

Man Oubre has been nice for Charlotte. Stepped up big time here with Melo and co.. out. Bridges with another great game.

And Bouknight finally got a chance to shine with a big game.

C's stink right now. you can blame Tatum if you want but that seems 100 off base but it's more the surrounding pieces that suck. Also Smart on O and Schroeder are way too hot and cold for me. that's been one of the biggest issues. The 2020 draft was a complete killer. Thanks Ainge.
