Depending on what goes on with Ty Lue(there’s been talking from local Clippers Media he may step down)I could see him going there, reuniting with Kawhi. I hope he avoids Houston because I want to see Cassell finally get a HC gig and take that one.
He was being praised here and elsewhere while being thrown around as the "best coach in the NBA" debate.

I'm not gonna go back and find proof, but that level of high praise was being given to Nurse.

Anyway, I think it is way, way too soon to be firing him but they needed a scapegoat. [emoji2377]

Neither did I, but that wasn't my point, Pack.

He went from "arguably" the best or amongst the best to being out of a job in 4 short years.

I never personally put him above coach Bud or Spo, but plenty of pundits and fans were heaping tremendous praise on Nurse. Now, he's with Dwayne Casey, out here looking for a new job after being canned by Masai.

It’s a 2 man race and I’d definitely go with Nurse, lol

Overall, Nurse went 277-163 in five seasons with Toronto and was the NBA coach of the year in 2019. In five seasons (2018-23), Nurse had the best winning percentage in team history (.582), made three playoff appearances, won two Atlantic Division titles, an Eastern Conference title and an NBA title.

Like I said in my 2nd point, that was bound to happen. That championship was a minute ago and it’s been a steady decline since then(obviously there’s others factors involved but at the end of the day, it’s a results-driven business)and it was only going to give him job security for so long.

Win 1 championship as a HC, it can buy you a few extra years, especially if you’re a Coach that’s on the hot seat(Bud). Win 2-3 and you can pretty much leave on your own terms.

I would like to see Sam Cassell get a HC job and would definitely bring that hard working culture Houston needs. He has been great here in Philly so far. The players love him and listening to a lot Sixers podcasts over the last few years, haven't heard a bad thing about him with all the drama Sixers had.

I just don't know if Cassell being attached to Doc Rivers really helps him. Doc is respected around the league, but also is weighted down by all the playoff failures and reputation. It feels like since start of year 2, Philly fans wanted him fired lol. I'm not the biggest Doc fan, but have to recognize that Embiid has had his best 3 years all under Doc and each year was better than the last.

But I do think Cassell would be a good HC. He's had a great impact on Maxey and he's not afraid to get at the superstars of the team either. I do think he would be a good fit for Houston as he would bring the discipline they sorely need. I actually think he would do a better job of establishing a disciplined culture than Doc. Heck, I remember Sixers fans being more than okay with Cassell being the coach over Doc.

**** you (jk lol)... Steve Nash will never get another HC job again. I'd be shocked if he ever did.

I disagree, if they're gonna tear it down and start over, might as well let the national hero suck it up and eat the Ls for a couple years while the front office dodges the blame

edit: i just realized "dark horse" is a next level pun that went right over my head

double edit: ok I went over my own head because I was thinking of Casey and Nurse and Detroit and... I'm gonna go ahead and sit out a few plays

I wonder who the Raptors fave is, because some were claiming he was their top option, but obviously if they had a guy in mind already, they'd probably have announced it already instead of firing Nurse a week after the season ended with no follow up announcement.

Well we don’t have to worry about him dating anybody on the staff. He can spend his nights at all the clubs Harden went too
