I think Ja needs to find some new friends. All the talent in the world won’t fix friends who will put you in situations like this.

Isn’t his buddy banned from FedEx Forum because he tried to get into an altercation with the Pacers? Plus it’s the same dude involved when Ja got into that fight at a pickup basketball game.

NBA will suspend him, and I have a feeling it will be more than eight games this time.

Who cares if Memphis "suspends him from all team activities" when their season is over and Ja likely has a gym/basketball (plus a personal trainer) on his property?

Just put out a statement "denouncing" his reckless behavior, get him some more "counseling," fine the **** out of him and keep it moving.

        Oh I agree.

Personally, I don’t think any of this is a big deal. His issue is that he’s was/is being too hot. Like if he wants to do this in off time in the OFFseason, then go ahead…just don’t let US SEE IT.

I know one thing: I know people won’t be demanding he should be kicked out of the league like they were with Kyrie. That was a fun time lol

He's not invited to their summer retreat?

For real though, probably means he's not allowed using team facilities during that time.

That's the difference between what the media really wants to talk about and denounce and what they don't. On the Kyrie thing they really didn't care how overt they were when talking down to people they see as being dumb/ignorant. Giving him a list of things to do, apologize to this person and that person, etc. On this they don't really care about the problem this Ja thing represents.

This remind me of that Chappelle Rick James skit after they beat the brakes off his legs and Charlie says Eddie is like “man Rick really needs help” and Charlie says “man we just have his *** some help.” [emoji23][emoji23]

Morant isn't a felon and has never been in trouble with the law, so why can't he possess a gun like every other gun-loving crazy in America?

Just now getting a chance to post my thoughts, but echoing a lot of this I don’t really think any of the Ja stuff has been that big of a deal. Obviously if he was really in an SUV that was pointing a gun at Pacers players that would be a big deal, but that wasn’t proven and all of this other stuff has been a bit overblown IMO.

I get a lot of it depends where you’re from and all that, but in this area having a gun, carrying a gun, it’s normal. Even posting a guy on social media is normal. But I will say there is a difference in posting a new gun you purchased to “show off” like when you buy anything else, or posting a picture of you carrying as a means to show you support carry laws, or posting to show you spent the day at the range, or if you’re a hunter and post pictures that has your gun in them.. all of that is a bit different than waving it around driving down the road, or in a strip club lol. Even if it’s just there as a prop, it’s just really really stupid. Not just to being doing it, but even more so to post it. I don’t understand how he doesn’t realize that by now.

Like JPosse said, the reaction is going to be over the top, anything gun related is, but Ja isn’t a felon, has never been in trouble, all of that. He just can’t be so damn stupid. Dude likely missed all-NBA this year because of all that mess (maybe not because Fox and Dame were quite a bit ahead, although that could have influenced those votes too) so he’s potentially already cost himself about 40 million dollars from failing to qualify for his super max. On top of whatever the suspension costs him. And he still hasn’t learned?

                Basically just don’t be dumb.

My only concern for Ja is if he’s doing all this to promote a certain image to fit in with a certain group of friends what happens if those friends are really about that life and put him in situations where waving around that gun puts him in spots to really **** up his career? Because we already know if it pops up on IG lives this frequently there are far more times where it doesn’t.

Somebody mentioned maybe he needs new friends, I don’t know any of his friends to know if that’s the case or not, and everybody is young and dumb at some point. But you do hope the people he’s around that’s all it is, Memphis isn’t exactly the place to be ****ing around like that either. I just hope somebody can get in his ear and convince him that he’s made it and doesn’t need to impress anybody. His friends should realize that too, of course they may also be keeping him out of trouble letting him be who he wants to be but in spots/situations where waving around a gun is nothing but that.

His friend cut that camera quick [emoji23], but he’s also going live knowing Ja has that in his hand, or at least on him. That part seemed a bit fishy to me.

I agree it's way over the top. I saw Mike Wilbon says his son will not be wearing Ja's new shoe and I'm just like man c'mon lol But of course fierce gun control advocates are having a stroke over this and are taking it personal.

For me it's just Ja is coming off so damn disingenuous and arrogant. You make an apology and the whole I gotta be better thing. And then this surfaces. He just looks like an ******* right now.

His apology was also based on him being stressed and not knowing how to handle stress and all that.. this is obviously not a stress issue and never was, so we knew from the jump he was just talking for PR.

Maybe that still makes him seem disingenuous to an extent, but I think pretty much everyone realized by “be better” his truth was likely more like be better at not catching it on camera lol.

Most folks knew that apology/interview with Jalen was always for PR and that he wasn’t going to mean any of it, lol. The smart thing would’ve been to take it for what it was.

And I know the reason this got the reaction it did(again)is because so many of us spent a lot of time/energy defending the first one, brushing it off like it was no big deal, he wasn’t charged/didn’t get locked up. We were riding for him while others were trying to paint him with the usual brush of “acting like a thug, he grew up with 2 parents, he can’t be a thug” blah blah blah.

Not even a month later, he’s caught being hot for the same **** again [emoji23] And it’s like damn, we did all that defending just for you to go and make yourself look dumb again and got us looking silly in the process for defending you the first time.

For most people, this was the reaction we had:

It’d be one thing if this was a year later, he was doing good(aka not being hot on IG/Twitter)and he slipped up, that could easily be defended as a minor slip up. There ain’t no defending this one no matter how hard we want to because he really dumb. Not dumb as in he doesn’t know literally ANYTHING but dumb as in “Fool you didn’t learn from the first time?” [emoji23]

I don’t even think he needs new friends either. Doesn’t really need a lifestyle change either. He’s definitely not the only NBA player that hangs out with some wild dudes. Hell, James Harden is Hip Hop’s #1 Groupie because he’s always hanging around them and he doesn’t get any mess, so maybe Ja needs to hang around him in his off time lol.

Even with these incidents, this is nowhere near the worst thing an NBA Player has done in the last year(I see we’ve all forgotten about Miles Bridges and what he did because I don’t remember that getting the reaction that this has gotten).

I just want to say that if he wasn't being roasted on twitter so much at the beginning of the year for being a seemingly suburban kid trying to be hard, this wouldn't have gotten so much attention at the start, and wouldn't have resulted in as big of a media storm and subsequent suspensions etc. Just find that pretty funny.

Not even so much the LeBron aspect here, but I like how the guy just confidently says he doesn’t see a lot of plays, just pick & roll etc.

Reminds me of a lot of casual guys who say the same don’t see the game within the game. 2:00 mark

That's half a season for stupidity sir. "This" act was already proven to be worth 8 games. This dip **** would be getting that much for doing the same damn thing a little over 2 months later after getting off light the first time. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
