King, I know we both love to engage in hyperbole/over exaggeration. Not meant to be an insult because we both know it’s true for the both of us.

Regardless of how we feel about his actions(Yes, they were dumb no one logical person would disagree with that)why is the 2nd time worth 41 games?

If you’re saying he should get it just for being dumb then I completely understand that because he is a dumb dumb lol

FWIW, if I had to guess a number, I’d go in the 15-20 range(quarter of the season basically).

I'm expecting 20-25. 15 seems too low. 40 is probably too high, but I think he's an idiot so if they over did I would be fine with it.

Like mentioned before, by you I think. If this was six months later, if this happens May whatever 2024 after their season is over, he's still an idiot for getting caught up in the same completely unnecessary mess again, but at least there's some time between the incidents, but this mess right now? While this hasn't even had time to fade out of people's memories yet? Overdoing it after probably underdoing it the first time just doesn't bother me.

Random thought but in only 4 years it will be your 20 year anniversary on this website. Ain't that insane.

Sometimes I imagine people browsing Youtube 30,40, 50 years from now (if it's still up and if the world still ressembles the one we know) and you'll have videos from 60 years ago with dead people commenting random stuff.

Damn life is wierd.

It’s a pointless statement but not because it’s not believable.

But because it’s not necessary, lol. Like he doesn’t need to put out a statement, he doesn’t owe US an apology(the employers/sponsors yeah but he can put on a front for that), he doesn’t need to do an interview with Jalen or Malika or Robin Roberts and he doesn’t need to go to rehab/treatment.

Just stop being hot and recording all of your hot ****. Or simple terms, stop acting like a damn fool.

I think Silver is gonna send a message. If he only gets 8 or 10 games he's gonna look weak. My guess is 25. But won't surprise me if it's 40 plus.

I'm not in favor of a big suspension for Ja. His first was because of an accumulation of allegations, he got his 8 for all that, nothing proven in court, he did counseling and everything for image repair, back on track

this time is like "cmon man, you just got in trouble" without doing anything illegal or against rules, it's just "ugh, dude really?"

If there was a rule or law he broke, sure. Go ahead and enforce the rule or punishment for breaking the law.

But if not, what would he be getting punished for? I don't know if "he's stupid" is enough for me

Just fine him and move on. Hell, give him another 8 games if that's the standard now. But talk of half the season for what boils down to dancing with gun in hand during his personal free time is a pretty big reach. We acting like he threatened or pistol whipped somebody lol

idk how to feel about the whole thing. We know he's done nothing "wrong" hence why this isn't some legal issue, or him being in trouble with anything outside the NBA/sponsors..

But the underlying point of the whole thing is (aside from just being really dumb) he's breaching his contract and code of conduct laws in the NBA. But not just one time, multiple times. After already serving a suspension.

Like a normal job and he's fired this time. Maybe even the first time. Not some "sit these 8 games then go back to making your 200 mil", or whatever the extended time is this time around.

I thought Chuck, Kenny, Shaq broke it down pretty well in their thoughts. I was pretty much on team "this isn't really a big deal" before hearing their thoughts. And I still am, but with more context to how it applies to his job.

As far as how long he should be suspended/how much fined man **** idk.. Obviously more than last time, maybe with more harsh warnings for repeating again.. But idk how the league decides what warrants 20 games vs 40 games or whatever... It's easy to say "why suspend him x-amount of games just for being dumb", but we already know the short suspension didn't keep him from being dumb.. So I mean what's the next step? IDK

As I see it, the perception is actually that the league went easy on him the first time. It was Morant himself who actually took a leave of absence (I'm sure not voluntarily, all part of a public relations package) and he was out for 6 games and then the NBA added "2" at the end to make it 8.

So they did it one way, including the softball Jalen Rose "interview", the whole nine yards we are rooting for you, isn't he brave that he is looking for help/therapy, look at how the league deals with this problem in 2023 in a not entirely punitive sort of way, isn't it wonderful.

And he spits on Silver's face. So now they might need to try it...another way.

Like you said, he is in trouble with sponsors. The money. For now he is in trouble with his sponsors, you wouldn't want that to spill over league wide.

Not that it is anywhere near close to that, but that's the point: Ja Morant is good, but he ain't that good. He could be abducted by aliens tonight and the NBA wouldn't miss a beat going forward. So enough with his ****, his distractions (right in the middle of the marquee part season for the league I might add). Silver don't wanna give the impression to anyone, sponsors, fans, players other stakeholders that this is ok (obviously) or that it will be tolerated.

You ain't Jordan. You ain't LeBron. You drop a bomb on him, all you lose is Ja Morant.
