    Siakam to Pacers gonna happen?!

If you're getting 3 firsts, who are the players to even out salaries?

Best case I'd see is Brown, Mathurin, Smith. But could see it being Brown + Toppin. Maybe flip Brown for a pick if they can too.

Pacers also own 2 firsts this year (less favorable of OKC,LAC,HOU,UTAH along with their own).

Maybe Raptors get both those picks plus Pacers in 2026? Though I'd rather the more favourable of those 2 picks plus 2 future firsts (25 and 27 if 24 isn't the Pacers 1st or 26 and 28 if it is the Pacers 2024). But if they get both firsts and tank, let's say their pick is 6th, perhaps they can move up if needed by throwing in those firsts.

Not a bad return if they can do a trade further. 3 firsts for Siakam plus whatever pick you get for Brown (or do Brown + Toppin for some expiring deal plus a pick).

Is this really the Draft to want to tank for?

No, but if they don't tank, the Spurs get their first this year which could be a pick around 7-14. OG gone and Siakam either traded or leaves in FA, would just make things worse if you don't have a 1st this year either.

The question is are you happy?

I'm Happy Scottie Barnes becomes the man again. Since RJ and Quick. His numbers haven't been the same.

Pelicans send second-round pick to Pacers, Kira Lewis Jr. goes to Raptors as part of Pascal Siakam trade - Woj

Details on the Pacers picks to Toronto, per sources:

2024: two first-rounders – one via Indiana and one via worst of OKC/Utah/ Houston/Clippers

              2026: one first-rounder, protected 1-4

Hate seeing Siakam go but it had to happen.

Only thing that'll dictate success of the trade is what they do with those picks.

Could turn into a robbery like the George trade ended up for OKC with Clippers, or could be a trade where the picks were "wasted" (one of the less talked about parts of that Vince deal from the Raptors, as bad as it was, they passed on some notable guys like Iguodala and Granger who went right after).

Raptors starting up will be Poeltl,Barnes,Barrett,Quickley and 1 more guy, probably Schroder. Although Schroder could be the next to go. No point keeping him around.

Can someone clear this up for me.
When they say worst or lesser of, does that mean the highest pick? So the least valuable pick out of those 4 picks is my interpretation

It's least valuable. So if the picks are 20,21,22,23, they're getting 23.

No way of proving who is right, but some suggest Siakam wanted to go to Pacers but the claims of him not wanting to re-sign were to tank his value so Pacers don't give as much back.

And also reports saying Bruce Brown doesn't want to go to Raptors and was one of the sides leaking the rumors the past few days.

On the plus side, Knicks rumored to be interested in Brown. Even if he wanted to come here, I still see Raptors wanting to move him. Fournier is only guy from Knicks I see involved. They'd have to include a 1st with Fournier for Brown. If Knicks want to extend Brown then great. Raptors can decline Fourniers deal after this year (or outright waive him this season if he wants to go to a contender).

Knicks winding up with OG, Brown, and Hart would be pretty damn solid. 3 dudes who play both ends HARD without taking away usage and touches from the stars.

And in Browns case, you're not really even losing a guy. Losing RJ and Quickley for OG, we'll see how that winds up for them in the long run, but Brown for a cap dump and 1st shouldn't be bad.

Works out for Raptors as well, basically getting 4 firsts for Siakam. Might be a weak draft, but that just means you buy a bunch of lottery tickets for cheaper. All it takes is 1 of those 4 firsts becoming an all-star caliber player to make the deal worth it.

Could wind up with a steal or two in the draft, or you wind up TWolves in 09 with Rubio and Flynn over Curry. Imagine if TWolves turned KG deal into a Curry draft pick.

To complete the Siakam deal and make roster space the Raptors had to waive Koloko.

People thought the plan might be let him go since he's out this year and sign him back once they have more roster space in offseason.

It doesn't seem that likely anymore. Turns out his health is worse than people thought. Sounds like blood clot issues could end his career before it really even began.

Damn, same issue that ended Chris Bosh's career prematurely. SMDH

He's still covered by the leagues plan I'm sure and is still getting his money from the Raptors, so at least he will get proper care.
