    Re: NBA Off Topic Thread

I think it's more than just working. He stuck with TNT because he likes the job (but hates the hours) and the people around him.

Going to any other network would be like starting a new job. New coworkers, new staff behind the scenes, new city and all that.

Don't blame him for hanging it up.

At the same time, if Inside the NBA continued after Chuck and Kenny and eventually Ernie are done, would it have been the same kind of show anyways? Even when someone fills in for Ernie as host, or they did the players only stuff with Shaq and others, it didn't feel the same.

I guess it's better to go out on top than slowly see the show decline one by one.

Lol what would be the purpose of him changing his mind if Inside The NBA is gone?

I also understand him retiring. He’s been involved with the NBA for 35+ years, that’s a long time for anyone to work. Obviously it would be better if TNT wasn’t on the verge of losing the NBA but at the end of the day, he gave us a lot of classic material and knew his **** to, contrary to what a bunch of loser bloggers would say.

Somewhat NBA related but I found some guy on IG who does some custom design NBA stuff. @lucsdesign91

Not a fan of most of it but he has a few like this that basically look the same as the NBA x Warren Lotas designs. I had to grab a Ja shirt for next season. Hoping to maybe get a silver sharpie autograph above the logo at a game next year.

I can’t believe the NBA is getting that crazy TV deal. 2 non-memorable Finals in a row, ratings have been disastrous since 2020. Ratings declining year over year.

I know a lot of y’all are hardcore bball guys but this Silver 3-ball era ain’t it. And they clearly gotta learn how to market new stars ASAP.

No defense allowed, everyone plays the same boring run n chuck, and the masses are bored of it. Something big needs to change.

No offense to Cima intended, but I think complaining about how the modern game is becoming a 'three-point contest' is just a cop out at this point.

People just want something to complain about and why they can't connect with the modern game or players. Every sport has been altered - permanently - by analytics, so it always perplexes me why the NBA seems to catch all this flack.

Yet no matter how data and analytics driven any sport becomes the human element still is the main factor. People complained about 'ugly ball' between Knicks/Heat or Spurs/Pistons, complained about the iso - heavy style of the mid to late 2000's, etc.

Was the 80's and 90's the only time some people enjoyed the NBA?

Raptors rebrand is happening this offseason, but despite that their draft hat for next week features their current logo? Usually when teams rebrand they debut a new look at the draft.

I remember seeing screenshots from homecoming and thinking how cool graphics have become.

Seemed so cutting edge at the time

Hopefully they ditch the uniforms that the Pedophile created for ya’ll.

Why the hell do the Raptors rebrand every 2-3 years man. One of the youngest franchises in the league and they have more rebrands than some of the 40-50 year+ squads

To be fair, it's really only their 3rd rebrand (primary logo wise).

                                Original Dino logo

Recoloured Dino logo was 1st change

Toronto Raptor Nets logo was 2nd change

Current basketball claw logo was 3rd change

Their jerseys have changed, but isn't that more an NBA thing than anything? And they changed to their current look because they wanted more money during the pandemic onwards.
