Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Games Discussion Thread
I still have hope the Raptors can win the series, but I expect Philly winning game 1.
Either way, it's so weird having a playoff series without Lowry. First time since the Bosh era we don't have Kyle in a playoff series.
And Jurassic park is open again! Tonight and their first home game on Wednesday will be special as its the first time for either one since the 2019 NBA Finals.Comment

My main hope is DeAndre Jordan doesn't step onto the floor. There were obvious times that he showed no effort or only good for an occasional lob/rebound. I believe most Sixers fans rather Charles Bassey than Reed, but Reed is a better option than Jordan and Millsap by a mile. They need his energy, athleticism, rebounding, and defensive versatility. His main problems are him not staying in his lane and fouls.I still have hope the Raptors can win the series, but I expect Philly winning game 1.

My things to look for is what version of Harden Sixers are getting, Green and Niang knocking down open threes, can Maxey be consistent, can Shake be a viable option off the bench. The main things are defensive rebounding, transition D, and turnovers, which are strengths on Raptors. I can see Sixers losing 1-2 games on those 3 things alone. I can see Joel averaging over 3 turnovers .
I wonder if Raptors will stick with their base lineup of Vanvleet-Trent-OG-Barnes-Siakam. I know they are going to throw a lot of doubles and exotic zones, but Embiid has like 4in and 50lbs on all them. He is better at passing out of double teams. His turnovers are off over dribbling and foul baitingComment

Wonder if Toronto is better off employing the “Let Embiid Cook” strategy and then make everyone else work for their shots?
And I wish the Nets weren’t on that BS and would let Ben play tomorrow instead of waiting til the series shifts back to BK.#RespectTheCultureComment

Probably might be a better strategy. I'm not confident at all in what they will get from Harden. I can see 1-2 good games max. Both Danny Green and Niang can be very streaky. The best you can hope for from Tobias 14-18 on efficient. Maxey is the wildcard. When he is aggressive, he can be a problem. Only thing about letting Embiid cook, is not letting him foul out guys. Sixers are a great FT team, so allowing them to get into the bonus early in quarters isn't ideal

Wait wait wait I was looking away just then. They called that a flagrant? So THAT'S a flagrant foul, but what Capella did wasn't?Comment

Don't know if that's a flagrant, but if it makes Maxey hesitate on picks from now on that's a win.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

It may not look as egregious because he is so big but Embiid lowkey flops.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment
