Re: What a day! Who faired the best?

    By far the Sixers.

The one thing that i thought the Sixers needed was a complete overhaul. I never wanted to trade Allen, but if it meant getting better and going in a different direction i was for it, because even though they been through 3 coaches since Larry Brown left, this was still a Larry Brown team. And i think that's why this team struggled early on with Jim O'Brien. It never found its identity since Brown left. But yesterday and today Billy King was able to overhaul this team while holding on to Iverson, and keeping that young nucleus of Iguodala, Dalembert, Korver, and Willie Green.

    Webber, Mashburn, Rogers, Bradley, Barnes

    for

Robinson, Skinner, Kenny Thomas, and Corliss Williamson

On paper, billy king is a genius. The one thing that worries me a bit though is the Sixers may have gotten players that are past their prime.

I'd say it's pretty even between Philly and the Warriors. Keep in mind Baron Davis wasn't the only thing they acquired. They also got a probable lottery pick from Denver.

#1 Golden State - If Davis is healthy and motivated, G-States moves could pay big dividends for years.

#2 Philly - Webber is a nice addition, but for how long?

#3 Houston - added needed depth and brought back a fan favorite in Moochie Norrris

My "WTF was he thinking?" award goes to Zeke. I could have sworn the one position they were stacked at was at PF...and they go out and get two more? And add two more cap-unfreindly contracts? For an underacheiver in Taylor, and a guy with a bit of an attitude in Rose? Yikes.

That locker room is going to be a mess, IMO. What do y'all Knick fans think?

Ok, i know yall are going to think im crazy but the Hawks got a good deal. They got a guy who wont play for them but Walker wasnt going to sign anyway. The also get another first round pick and there is going to be a lot of talent in this upcoming draft.

                Just one guy's opinion...

I've come to expect this from the horrible management of the Knicks over the past few years (Layden and Isiah) Between giving Houston 20 million... getting Penny and paying him 14 mil to sit on the bench...being stuck with Crawford for 7 years.... blowing a load of money on Tim Thomas.

And before these trades there was unrest in the locker room between Marbury and Kurt Thomas.

                    So lets recap...

                    1. We have no Center
                    2. We have 4 PF's
                    3. We have fighting teammates
                    4. A huge amount of terrible contracts
                    5. Horrible coaching
                    6. And we're stuck with this for a while

Boy this should be a fun 2nd half.

Re: What a day! Who faired the best?

I think the Spurs might have quietly just locked up the championship this year. I watched Nazr all year and he put in work. He's WAY better and more consistent than Nesterovic and they already have a solid core.

I think long term- Golden State. Talk about Showtime when everyone's healthy.

Philly took the biggest risks by acquiring injured players. Will Mash ever suit up again. Can he pull a Grant Hill. Do they know more in Sac Town about Webber's long term health that the rest of the country? I like the deal, but C-Webb's not playing a full season for the rest of his career and is not a lock to play during the playoffs.

Bonehead GM- my own Isaiah Thomas. Yeah, those 'high' picks from the Spurs/Suns (LOL) and Rockets will really get us a gem in the draft. We take on longer contracts from more PFs as if we were lacking either. Let's make a trade just to make a trade. Unfreakingbelievable!

Another questionable acquisition- KVH to the Mavs. Okay, you'd think they'd go for a defensive stopper. Nah, they pick up another long-range bomber. Soft as ice cream. They digressed with that deal IMHO.

                        Whew--

                        oh yeah, the Knicks suck!

Hey, lets not forget the Nets getting VC a month ago. That was a steal, and he is putting up numbers from the past. They may not be doing so good right now, but they have a good core to work with next year. They also shut up all of the Net fans after the Kenyon Martin (same age as Vince....bet ya didn't know that) fiasco.

Sorry, I had to give my Nets some post time.
