Hey, lets not forget the Nets getting VC a month ago. That was a steal, and he is putting up numbers from the past. They may not be doing so good right now, but they have a good core to work with next year. They also shut up all of the Net fans after the Kenyon Martin (same age as Vince....bet ya didn't know that) fiasco.

Sorry, I had to give my Nets some post time.

Another questionable acquisition- KVH to the Mavs. Okay, you'd think they'd go for a defensive stopper. Nah, they pick up another long-range bomber. Soft as ice cream. They digressed with that deal IMHO.

      Whew--

      oh yeah, the Knicks suck!

Dude, this is Febuary and people keep giving the ring to San Antonio. I like the move they made but lets not just give them a title just yet. If you take a look in their rearview mirror down I-10 there's a very talented and deep Mavs team that will be waiting to get their shot at the Big Bad Spurs.

As for the Mavs trade for Van Horn, at first I was skeptical of this trade but basically this was a no brainer for the Mavs. They traded C.Booth for Van Horn. Henderson is actually coming back to Dallas after he clears waivers. So, alsong as they retain Hendu who has been outstanding off the bench with his hustle, defense and rebounding they really acquire Van Horn for nothing. He will play SF alongside Dirk at PF and Damps at Center when Dallas goes Big and he'll play PF with Dirk at Center when they go small but for all purposes he's coming to Dallas to be another scorer off the bench and cause more matchup problems for teams. As for their defense I think too many people are reflecting on this team from past years. This is an entirely different team which ranks in the top ten in just about every major defensive category now but people are just to set in their ways to see that this year.

Re: What a day! Who faired the best?

By far the Golden State Warriorsgot the better end of this deal ill explain.

Dale Davis: Expiring contract and cancer in the locker room, this guy had such a bad attitude toward miek montgomery it started rubbing off on the young players. when young players see a vet disrespect laugh at and embarass a coach they inturn feel there is no respect needed (see pietrus.)

Speedy: Now, i love speedy claxton i will never say a bad word about him, but he is a BACKUP pg prolly the BEST backup PG in the entire L, besides that. He WASNT COMING Back next year, Derek fisher and his 6 year deal , along with Speedys player option would make sure of that.

and here we go the Gem Baron Davis: 25 years old The injurys Baron davis have suffered are not career ending injuries , hwoever they are potentially lingering injuries (speedy has the same injury problem The point is. The warriors lack a Playmaker, someone who can create his own shot, dribble and penetrate, i gather Mike dunleavy will get STRIDES better this year and enxt because now he wont be called on solely to try and create something. we got baron to do it. WOW The we got a BONAFIDE ALL STAR PG for two players that were gone anyway.

As a warriors fan i can honestly say i havent been this excited probably since when we drafted jrich.troy and gil.

I questioned Chris mullins GM capabilities when he signed Foyle, and Fisher. And im still questioning him, but i see that hes tired of settling for MEDIOCRITY and hes making strides to make this TEAM better not wait on a "10 year plan" of rebuilding, again, again and again.

Im still stirring im so excited i cant sleep.

Re: What a day! Who faired the best?

Take it for what it is worth, but here is my analysis.

              Big Winner: Philidelphia 76ers

Not only does Allen Iverson finally get the talent the 76ers have been looking to add to him for nine years, they didn't have to give up much to get Chris Webber. Williamson, and Kenny Thomas were two undersized fowards and Skinner never fit in the Phili rotation.

Then, add the deal with the Hornets. The 76ers traded Williamson, Thomas, Skinner, and Robinson's one year contract for Chris Webber and Rodney Rogers.

Sure, you can say that Robinson's cap number is off the books next year, and that the Sixers had to take on Mashburn's contract, but insurance covers 80% of his contract, including next seasons.

              Great move by the 76ers.

              Under-the-radar Winner: Cleveland Cavaliers

Acquiring Jeri Welsch, a great outside shooter, defender, who is versatile and does a lot of things, for a late first round pick. What a greak pick up in the Cav's run for the Eastern title.

              Big Losers: Knicks, T-Wolves, Raptors

Knicks make more headscratching moves. While the T-Wolves and Raptors, with players to unload, sit on their hands.

                  1. Philly- Iverson seems mature this year and if Webber stays healthy Philly looks tough.
                  2. San Antonio - I really like Mohammed backing up Nesterovic and Duncan. This well give them flexibility when they are in the finals.
                  3. Boston - if Walker understands why he is there and Payton comes back the Celtics look like a tough team.
                  4. GS - Baron Davis won't help this year but next year he will make a difference.

Call me a homer but Dallas might have pulled off the most genious move of the day. They get Van Horn as another scorer of their bench to play th e3 and 4 spots for C.Booth who wasn't able to crack the Mavs rotation. The reason why I say it was a brilliant move is because now it is being reported that the money Dallas sent to Milwaukee was part of the deal to waive Allan Henderson so that the Mavs could retain his services within a week after he clears waivers. Great move by the Mavs because they not only get even deeper they bring back Hendu and so many people are sleeping on this trade.

Well, good thing is Van Horn is coming off the bench and not starting, because I've witnessed his playoff performances. Afraid of his own shadow.
