Technically the rule is supposed to be sliding into a players landing spot. Not sliding into where a player who did the splits mid air and moved his foot 3ft to the right of where he would have landed.

Who thought it was a good ideal for the 4th quarter to be starting at 11pm on a workday on the east coast?

I feel for the Boston fans who have to watch Marcus Smart think he’s an elite playmaker or finisher. **** would drive me crazy.

I get why they wanted to make a rule, but this is the result. Unfortunately, you usually can't tell when a guy absolutely steps underneath a shooter with the intent to injure. So when you try to legislate intentional foul plays without knowing intent, you end up with oddball situations like this, which is a normal basketball foul on every other level of hoop.

This is what I mean when I say the league legislated itself into a corner in some realms. Now since you have a flagrant foul for close closeouts, you open up the window for offensive players "drawing" flagrants. This is what it is now.

I get all this, but the NBA for the most part has done away with calling fouls at all that result from the shooter flailing his legs like that. Much less a flagrant. I don’t think we’ve even seen one this entire playoffs other than that one. I understood the foul, Horford got his hand, but for a play that they haven’t really even been calling fouls on to be ruled a flagrant (or even be reviewed) felt weird in that situation to me.

I will say we are seeing less of that BS lean in foul we all hated. DWade was really good at drawing those.

Very few if any silly 3's from Tatum tonight, seems someone finally got through to him.
