Good person, but not HC material. Didn’t show it one time unless you want to count Year 1 but look who his Assistants were at the time. Vaughn needs to go to.

Now go and bring back Udoka.

And I forgot about Tsai’s tweet too. Did all that flexing just to follow thru with it anyway.

"The Brooklyn Nets plan to hire Ime Udoka as their new head coach, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Boston granted the Nets permission to speak to Udoka and will allow him to leave freely, sources said."

Still needs to true facilitating PG to make things easier for Beal and crew. I think Beal can "bounce back" if he didn't have to create so much for himself and others. If Hachimura ans Avdija would have taken a step by now, they would be in a better place.

They should either embrace it and tear it down or take the Portland route and make yourself believe that you can contend by making moves to transform the roster. They don't have young enticing talent, but they do have rotation players with good stackable contracts. There shouldn't be anyone who is untouchable on that roster. At least teams like Orlando and Detroit recognized that they weren't going anywhere and embraced the rebuild and got young talent that are building blocks.
I like Beal, but in 2 years his will be widely regarded as one of the worst contracts in the league.
Wizards locked themselves into mediocrity with a chance of pulling a first round upset as their ceiling for the foreseeable future.

I get the whole not wanting to trade star players if you're a smaller market team. But this was a situation a situation where they needed a better self evaluation. Beal isn't a #1, he isn't a guy that makes the players around him better. Great scorer and creator, but that's mostly on volume. They probably should've traded him last year or a couple years ago after Wall got hurt. I think Miami would've been a good fit for Beal.

Of the 3 big name players speculated for the Simmons trade last year, Beal was the one I didn't really want. If he really brought it on defense, it would be a different story. I still preferred Lillard, but my main concern with Harden was the 5 year supermax. Still concerned about a big deal this offseason, but Harden does seem like a great fit as the team needed a facilitator/scorer. I'm still for a Tobias Harris trade. If you could break his contract down to a 3 & D wing ans a backup PG, the team would be more of a complete team

I been accepted that they won win a championship so I’d rather they have one guy worth watching and scrap their way thru the season.

Got no faith in Ted or Tommy getting a rebuild done so just entertain me enough to get me thru the winter.

I think that is their thinking as well. They probably looked at Boston and Milwaukee and said we ain't competing with those rosters, but we still need to field a competitive team.

Seems like Wizards are one of the worst teams when it comes to drafting anyway. Last 20 or so years Beal and Wall have been the only picks that turned into quality starters for the team, and I don't even count Wall as a good pick because we had the #1 pick and he was the consensus #1.

Washington is not a small market team. Its just ran like it is.

Its like GSW. Whether they are perceived as a small market team is dependent on win/loss. Back when Baron Davis was the point Golden State was a small market team. DC has so many transplants that still support their old home team, but if the Wizards start winning that would change real quick.

The problem is they haven’t done it for long and there’s no confidence/hope in them doing that.
