I want Russ gone, and don't want the Lakers to bring in Kyrie even though it would improve the chances of a deep playoff run quite a bit, but if they do take the chance, 1st round draft picks should not be part of the deal.

I don’t blame the Nets for putting stipulations in their offer but also don’t blame Kyrie for being upset over it either. Plenty of lesser players get max deals with nothing tied to them, and from the Nets side most players show up do their job and cause no distractions/miss games either.

With that said what teams trading for him is going max deal? Seems like Lakers and Heat it makes sense because what else are you doing other than ride out the short window you currently have? Clippers might be on the fence, I don’t see how Dallas gives the max to another ball dominant guard knowing Luka can ask to leave in a couple years. Especially one that now has at least a slight history of his teams kinda falling apart while he’s on them/on his way out.

So compound the mistake of paying one dude $40 million a year to sit out when he feels like it by paying and marrying yourself to another dude just as big, quite possibly a bigger flake than the other dude all for the possibility of keeping the third flake who has already asked for trade happy? Nah **** outta here with that nonsense. You can trade him to whoever is stupid enough to take him on or just keep him and let his *** walk and trade off the other 2 if that's what it comes down to and use the assets to improve your team for the future. There is absolutely no reason to further marry yourself to three dudes who can walk into your office at any point cause the wind isn't blowing the right direction and want out of your organization. This star has been season ending injured for 4 of the last 5 years now and is 34. That juice isn't worth the squeeze

Bron can do that right now, Embiid can do that right now, Luka can do that right now, Jokic can do that right now, Giannis can do that right now. LaVine can do that to y’all right now.Literally any superstar player can do that(unfortunately)right now lol. They can wake up on the wrong side of the bed and be like “Forget this, I wanna leave”

But you wanna let them go because you’re afraid of that risk despite the fact they give you the best chance to win a title? Yeah we different but that’s cool lol

Personally, I’m 35 y/o so I could less about the whole “They can just take off and miss games whenever they want to” thing, especially in this Load Management Era where guys are only playing 55-65 out of 82 games anyway, as long as I know they’ll give me the best chance to win, which those 2 do. I’ll take winning + BS > “Vibesss” + losing any day. I did that when Kenny was here, no desire to go back to that.

And if it comes to it, I’d look to move Ben in the offseason and take whatever I can since he’s a depreciated asset at this point anyway.

Everyone has some stipulations/clauses in their contract that gets triggered.

Tying the amount of years on a contract to Championship(which requires a lot of luck and in some cases factors out of the players control)is wild. And why offer that when you know NO player would ever accept that from their FO in any sport.

Nobody saw Harden “likely to do” another trade demand one year after forcing his way out of Houston.

Nobody saw KD “likely to do” a trade demand a year after signing a Supermax extension with the team.

(And anyone that says they saw both of those coming would full of ****).

The funny thing about Luka is folks were just talking about how he should look into maybe demand a trade if the Mavs didn’t get him any help(this was a few weeks after the season which makes this even funnier)and he just signed his supermax this past offseason [emoji23] Like damn, y’all can’t wait at least 2-3 years before starting that up? Lol

But yeah, we can try and pretend to act like we know what these players will do but the reality is that we don’t really know because they can switch up that fast.

Pack you ain't gotta stan for him. Lebron has gotten plenty of flak for him leaving too. But it's different with Irving because this guy sat out for his own covid beliefs. And his team still had his back and now he's just gonna quit on them. And he did a similar thing in Boston.
