Not sure what the Nets are doing next but if they need another first round pick to add to the collection or send to Toronto Clax and Curry/Royce might be the best return possible for what the Lakers are needing here.
Just looking at other options, I already mentioned Bamba + Ross, Capela is there money wise if Atlanta makes a move, Gafford + Barton.. Those are all probably the most realistic options in terms of matching money and being available for a 1st round pick. Not that all those teams want expiring contracts of Pat and Walker (Atlanta and Washington for example), but lumping in teams to dump them should be easy enough.
Another one could be Dallas. They can save quite a bit of tax money going forward by dumping the 3 years left on JaVale and Bertans. Likely a bit too much money combined for the Lakers but it seems Dallas will be making other moves because it looks like Wood is gone. JaVale back to the Lakers for expiring money could be in play and get the Lakers some end of the bench defense. I'm assuming Dallas is going all in, so a first round pick is likely out of play, but Wood+JaVale fits the money here. Wood is somewhat not needed at this point, AD, Rui, Bron, Vando.. But should AD going down that is some insurance offensively.
Another option that could be a possibility. I saw where Golden State could save a whopping 130+ million in tax money just by offloading Wiseman. I don't know that an unprotected first is worth it for him at this point but a right to swap or something protected might be. You'd send Pat or Pat+Walker to another team as expiring salary to bring back a guy who maybe has 2-3 years or something, and swap the pick for Wiseman. Doesn't help much now but fits strongly in their not jeopardizing the future game plan.
