Not sure what the Nets are doing next but if they need another first round pick to add to the collection or send to Toronto Clax and Curry/Royce might be the best return possible for what the Lakers are needing here.

Just looking at other options, I already mentioned Bamba + Ross, Capela is there money wise if Atlanta makes a move, Gafford + Barton.. Those are all probably the most realistic options in terms of matching money and being available for a 1st round pick. Not that all those teams want expiring contracts of Pat and Walker (Atlanta and Washington for example), but lumping in teams to dump them should be easy enough.

Another one could be Dallas. They can save quite a bit of tax money going forward by dumping the 3 years left on JaVale and Bertans. Likely a bit too much money combined for the Lakers but it seems Dallas will be making other moves because it looks like Wood is gone. JaVale back to the Lakers for expiring money could be in play and get the Lakers some end of the bench defense. I'm assuming Dallas is going all in, so a first round pick is likely out of play, but Wood+JaVale fits the money here. Wood is somewhat not needed at this point, AD, Rui, Bron, Vando.. But should AD going down that is some insurance offensively.

Another option that could be a possibility. I saw where Golden State could save a whopping 130+ million in tax money just by offloading Wiseman. I don't know that an unprotected first is worth it for him at this point but a right to swap or something protected might be. You'd send Pat or Pat+Walker to another team as expiring salary to bring back a guy who maybe has 2-3 years or something, and swap the pick for Wiseman. Doesn't help much now but fits strongly in their not jeopardizing the future game plan.

      .
Quoting myself to expand on this.. But given the Nets just got Cam, Jae, Bridges, whatever the **** else DFS might make sense there too. He can't be traded with another player because he's a recently traded player, would have to be broken apart as two separate deals. But Lonnie and a first for Claxton, and Pat for DFS..

Finney-Smith has like 4 years left on his contract, so possibly not something the Lakers want, but he fills a need more so than Rui or Vando either one do. And if the Nets are going rebuild they might prefer the expiring deals.

It's also a bit more money than the Curry/Royce option, so idk about Buss on that.

And yes Pack I love playing armchair GM, and I love the movement in the off-season/trade deadline.

I didn't even realize, Poeltl to the Raptors for Birch, and 24 first round pick, and two second rounders. Spurs have 13 first round picks through 2029.

A bit different this time around but still joining a team whose core made the finals without him lol.

Where is that Knicks fan L gif? That's perfect for right now.

So Crowder will get moved for tomorrow I guess. I had a feeling KD would be moved once they said he wasn't playing in the All Star game. I'm done with the Superstar thing. Just build off this. Don't change the coach again. Vaughn is obviously the man. That was the beginning of the end last time. Was getting rid of Kenny Atkinson last time. KD, Kyrie and Harden literally ripped whatever nice thing we had before. I'm happy to be in a place where we can grow.

I don't know how KD is going to change the Suns. CP3 is probably still on the table to be traded right? It's that or he's taking a major back sit to KD. Atyon is so talented. But last night's 30 point game was rare. Booker just needs to stay on the court.

Insane where is that Key and Peele skit with Obama saying goodbye. I think that fits here for me. My wife is going to be really happy. Maybe we can get season tickets again.

Portland should be good for him.

BTW..the 1st rounder in the trade is the Knicks 2023 lottery protected pick that turns into 4 second-rounders if not conveyed.
I typed this before going to sleep. But my question is where did Josh Hart fit in the rotation. He's a starter without a doubt. Is Grimes going to the bench now? Obviously RJ isn't. I love how Grimes has played the last month and a half. Oh well.... Josh Hart is great! I can't repeat that anymore. Surprised Portland gave up on him. Be ready for his patented rebound and coast to coast and1 take. He's an amazing rebounder from the front court.

In example, if a Top 10 Protected 1st Round Pick ends up being in the Top 10 that year then the team trading the pick gets to retain the pick, and it usually conveys into either a 1st a different year or a 2nd or package of 2nds

Like the Jazz received LA's 2027 pick with Top 4 protections, if the Lakers were to get a Top 4 pick that year in the lottery then they get to keep the pick and we get their 2nd round pick that year instead
