How much time could that take? They seem to have plenty of time to do things like adding Fabolous and Busta Rhymes to the game, but can't fix something that hasn't worked for years, and which has been at the top of the wish list for just as long.

Having more frequent injuries would certainly add a lot to the realism and challenge of playing a season/franchise.

    Get your priorities straight EA!

While I agree that having in-game injuries would be really cool and I definitely hope that EA gets them in next year, don't you think that having good gameplay would be a higher priority than having an injury happen ingame?

It's not an excuse for them not putting it in for so long but from last year's game 2002 to this year's game which would you rather have them work on? In-game injuries or Freestyle control? In-game injuries or quick play calling? In-game injuries or the fast break?

sorry, in-game injuries is not as important in my opinion although i do agree that it would be really nice to have. I think EA has there priorities straight at least this year....

      Re: Speaking of NBA Live

Don't get me wrong, gameplay is always my immediate concern, but it seems to go up and down each year. As far as the PC version, Live 2000 IMO had pretty decent gameplay, and Live 2001 was a step backwards. It sounds like 2003 is a great improvement.

Still, I'm not asking for something as insignificant as on-court refs, or the "correct" shoes on all the players... Injuries are a huge part of coaching strategy, and directly relate to gameplay.

Let's say you're playing with the Kings. As it is now, if you play all 82 games yourself, you're likeley to coast through the season. Now if they had done injuries correctly, and Chris Webber goes down for two months, you'd have to adjust your lineups accordingly, maybe sign a free-agent for depth. You could still make the playoffs, but it would add a challenge missing one or more of your key players.

As I said before, this is a problem that has been an issue since the beginning. Every year NBA Live contains "new features", while EA fails to address existing problems and sometimes even removes features that people enjoy. (Like custom teams, for example.)

also it would make you think twice before signing a free agent, because you'd want to know his injury history. Also, it would make you sub your starters out in a blowout game, taking out the risk of injury. If you're going to have franchise mode, you have to have a proper injury model.
