There is not one. And the only player who MAY have the potential at an OUTSIDE chance at SOMEDAY being able to hold MJ's jockstrap is Lebron James. And he's got a long way to go.

Look, by closest thing, I mean he is the closest thing. That doesn't have to mean he is anywhere near Michael Jordan(which he isn't). I posted this to make comparisons with the changing face of the league and the old school greats of yesterday. The comparisons are an attempt to take a player of old that reminds me (somewhat) of a player today. I watched MJ cut the hearts out of my beloved Jazz for two straight years and he is without a doubt the greatest basketball player ever. End of story. No question about it. The Kobe comparison is a stretch but if you had to pick one player in this league right now that even somewhat reminded you of Jordan I'd have to say KB.

face it jako, people are bandwagoners and whatever is popluar, there on their d!@*S, like saying Lebron good is the popluar thing to say, and saying Kobe sucks is also popluar. The thing is your right, Bron is not simliar to MJ, maybe in hype but that's it. But back to the popluar thing. It's always been that way since time. People think Ali GOAT, but we don't know that, could he beat Tyson in his prime, what about, Maricino, Louis, or Jack Johnson. We don't know, but it's popluar to say that Ali is GOAT, just like saying MJ is GOAT. Nobody wants people to think there different, so whatever is cool people will be like yea, cool. It's life, great point jakob but it doesn't fit the cool citerior, just the common knowledge citerior.

That's a very misunderstood phrase. People mistake "closest thing" for "as good as." No one is saying Kobe Bryant is as good as Michael Jordan. They are saying he is closer to him than anyone else. It's like saying if MJ was on Step 50 of the Basketball Talent Staircase, then Kobe would be on Step 20, with T-mac, AI, Lebron, etc. on the Steps behind him.
