How is it a mockery before we even know if it doesn’t pan out? It’s not really different than hiring any other former player. Walton, Ham, etc. JJ obviously has a good mind for the game, not that it means it will always work out simply because of that.
His podcast actually isn’t that bad if you want actual basketball talk and not basketball gossip. A lot of his content is what actually happens on the floor and why, which is sorta refreshing at times because so much of it has become story telling.
No idea how well that translates to coaching obviously.
