I think even without the gun stuff Ja had his work cut out for him to get that kind of praise. I loved him coming out of the draft and definitely thought he should've been #1 instead of Zion with the weight concerns, just don't think he has been consistent enough as a shooter and as a defender. Career 31% 3PT shooter and his playmaking has been good but not great enough to offset that

Ant meanwhile is on his way to becoming arguably the best two-way player in the league and is doing it for full seasons now. Obviously Ja had the suspension but Ant has played more games in 4 seasons than Ja has in 5

Wilbon made a point on NBA radio just now that I’d want to get some of your opinions on. He said at the end of the Lakers/Nuggets game since the Lakers had won a challenge they shouldn’t have lost their timeout. Meaning they would have gotten the ball at half court with 3.whatever with a chance at a decent shot to tie/win.

His argument wasn’t so much pro-Laker, as it was using a guy like Jamal Murray as an example. Saying that shot making in the league right now is so incredibly highly skilled that the league should adjust something like that (maybe other rules as well) to give us the opportunity for more of those types of plays.

I don’t really think any of that matters for being the face. He was winning, had a fun play style, and kids loved him. He didn’t really need to shoot or defend.

I never, ever took them seriously in all their incarnations over the years. Lob City era to PG era to the Harden experiment with street clothes Kawhi. I’m already moved on from them. Look at them the same way as I did the Suns and the Nets these last two years.

They missed an egregiously obvious moving screen too earlier. I notice that so much, as the refs seemed to let GSW get away with so many of those for like 4 years.
