Is anyone else disgusted that the first round is 7 games now?

    See, that's the problem with the playoffs.

    It's a lottery more so than a test of skill over a long period of time. The season best exemplifies a true champion, while the playoffs just show us who the best team is in winning a short series at the right time.

    During the season, everyone has ups and downs. The better teams can survive their downs and still post a good record. In the playoffs, you're basically telling those teams to go home. How is that fair?

    In my opinion, 5 games was stupid from the start. Who decides the better teams in less games? That just doesn't make any sense. I rather the game of probability be played on a large sample size than was done previously. 7 games over 5 anyday.

        I think that the 5 game series is better. But with what we have in the 7 game series, it takes way too long. Most teams play every 3 days and that's way too long. It makes the playoffs longer than it should be. I mean the finals don't start until June 9.

            I see your point about this. I like the 5 game series better. The 7 game series would be better if it didn't last forever.

                If that's the case, we should push for an 8 team tournament.

                The NBA, where we play 82 games to eliminate less than half the league from the playoffs!
