    Houston's whining getting tiresome

It's all over Houston apparently that the Rockets would have long since won the series if not for the referees.

Apparently, they believe that the phantom foul called in Game 5 when Finley was in the corner "stole" the game from them. Uh, the Mavs were up 3 with 15 seconds to go. Is not conceivably possible that Finley could have passed out of the double-team? Is it a given you would have made a three or scored twice in the final 15 seconds? Could Dallas not have answered?

    Please.

In Houston, they think they got robbed by the referees in Games 3, 4, and 5. They don't even consider that Dallas was up 8 with 3 minutes to go in Game 2 and choked the lead.

The series is exactly how it should be at this point, folks.

So, by your philosophy, Houston shouldn't have gotten a fair game called on Monday because Dallas would've responded. Um, alright...

There were plenty of calls that went both ways in all five games. Maybe if Houston didn't miss five free throws in the final two minutes......?

We're not playing dodgeball here. We both know that Houston shot horrible from the FT line at the end. That doesn't detract from the fact that the refs didn't call the end of game five fairly, and it very well could've cost Houston the game, regardless. They should be whinning.

How could it "very well" have cost the game? How about the foul on Yao that was conveniently called on Padgett? How about the foul late on Dirk in the lane that went uncalled?

There's always some of these. And Finley quite easily could have passed out of that double team if the whistle didn't blow. I'm not sure what the big deal was there.

All I know is Houston lost 3 straight games, and Houstonians can't seem to come to terms with it without going to the "THE REFS CHEATED US!" pathetic cree.

Plus, they're complaining about Games 3, 4, and 5. Not just Game 5.

I'm a Houston fan...I'm not complaining about games 3 and 4. Sure, there were some bad calls, but that's expected to some extent. I think people are just so upset about game 5 that they are starting to blame the whole series on the refs.

Game 5 was ridiculous though. Everyone that saw the game knows it...if we get the ball on the Finley out of bounds call there would have been a much better chance to win. If Padgett doesn't get called on that trap on Finley who knows what might have happened. If Mcgrady didn't get called for a phantom foul on the Nowitzki drive late in the game...etc. All these things added up really dug a deep hole for the Rockets.

Personally I'm upset at the team for not winning either game 3 or 4, due to 4th quarter lapses. We played well in the 4th quarter of game five, well enough to win, and got burned by bad calls.

I fully expect this series to go to game 7.

I believe that Houston was down 2 when Finley slapped the ball out of Barry's hands while standing out of bounds. The result what FTs for the Mavs. And what about T-Mac's phantom foul on Dirk that gave the mavs 2 more? Houston, in game five, took the blunt of the misfortune, and you know it. That has to be amazingly frustrating, and I'm sure that's why the other games were brought into question. Truth be told, they (Rockets) wouldn't be complaining at all if they'd won game five.

The series isn't over yet. I guess that's why I found this thread so appealing.

Can you imagine the first moving screen called on Yao tonight? Wow, that place will go nuts.

Of course it will - but if it really is a moving screen, it should be called. Case in point.

Dallas really hasn't played a good game in this series yet. I give Houston credit for part of that, but if they put together a complete game finally, this could be it tonight. Dallas has played great on the road all year.

I just want a well played, well reffed game (if it goes down to the wire, that's another +). If Dallas wins tonight and Houston plays hard, I'll be a proud Rockets fan - but I can't that happening. Only a few hours till game time baby!

Mark Cuban has showed the league about 11 examples of what he felt were moving screens. The league agreed with 9 of them. Maybe if the refs had called them momentum would have switched or Yao would have fouled out sooner so there is not point arguing about this. Refs make bad calls for both teams and there are no conspiracies or anything like that.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.
