    Re: NYK 10: The Crossover

In defense of the players (the only time I will), it has to suck knowing that you're basically only on the team to fill the roster out for the year. They all know it and they all play like it with the exception of David Lee. Al Harrington plays hard (on offense anyway) but he plays like he's the only one that has something to lose and doesn't want to pass up an opportunity to put points on the board. There's no motivation at all. What's the point in even suiting up? What do they have to play for? All they have to do is look at how Nate and Lee were treated this past offseason when they were the two best players on the team last year. They're only back because nobody wanted/could afford them.

I'm so pissed we didn't draft Brandon Jennings. I'm pissed we didn't sign Ramon Sessions or anybody to run the point. And that's gonna hurt, especially with this lotto pick that we gave up.

This thread makes me depressed. This team makes me suicidal.

Its amazing that every year we actually have a pick we win enough games to keep us from getting a star player, and every year we don't have a pick we are one of the worst in the NBA.

Awful team, Gallinari has been good and Lee has been Lee, but just about everything else about this team has regressed.

The funny thing is that the next few years do not look so bright anymore.

We're losing out on lottery pick this year, we aren't getting LBJ/Wade/Bosh, Chandler's development has come to a screeching halt so far this year, Gallinari seems like he can be a decent one-way player, the salary cap is shrinking and who knows about Jordan Hill though he has shown signs the last two games.

Walsh has a tall task ahead of him even with all that free cap space. This team needs a good point guard so badly, I can't believe we just had a draft this summer that basically had five good point guards and we didn't pick a one. I don't care how high Mike & Donnie are on Toney Douglas, he's not Brandon Jennings or from the looks of it so far even Ty Lawson (who would have been a stretch at #8).

At least we know Donnie will be smart financially but I see no guarantees that we're a playoff team within four years. In the NBA you have to build through young players and the draft and that's kinda tough when you don't have a first rounder every other year.

Or you get lucky and land a big-time free agent to build around. That's Walsh's Plan A. I'm just hoping he has a Plan B.

Hey Ruff, I was twelve the last time the Knicks won a title. You can imagine how I feel, getting my hopes dashed for 36 straight years.

Kind of, but there still has to be something to...

              A) Attract said big name FA
              B) Support big name FA once they're on the team.

A big name FA isn't going to do any good if his supporting cast is horrible.

Baffles me that Darko isn't the starting center on this team playing 25 minutes a game. He can defend the paint better than anyone else on the team and is the second best rebounder after Lee.

18 first quarter points, 13 second quarter points - 31 f'n points at the half. Three assists at the half. As Clyde just said, "I don't know what to say, I'm speechless."

LOL! If Clyde is speechless about something, then you know what he's seeing is really bad.

Toney can ball man, we might have gotten a sleeper. He's too quick for Deron Williams to check, he's been shaking him the whole game and finishing. Plus his J is pretty smooth.

Gotta pull of a W here, and despite this great comeback I still want to punch Harrington & Hughes in the face.

                          Dauntless Douglas.

Blah, no shocker. Toney was too indecisive on the last play, we were done once he picked up his dribble.

when oh when will darko and hill play?

i know the answer, no pun intended, but do you make a run at AI for one year?
                              just for sake of convo.

I would have. It wouldn't hurt the Knicks cap, plus AI can dominate all he wants. He'd bring some life to this place.
