How does Amare only have 9 FGA in 40+ minutes? I know Melo is going off in the second half but damn, get Amare involved somewhat.

There was no way Melo would let us lose last night. Dude was balling his butt off.

Hopefully pringles will play Sheldon more. We need his dirty work.

My favorite was Clyde reaming Jeffries for not doing the only thing he is here for.

Every time I see this piece of crap out on the court I get flashbacks from a few years ago. He's like that one guy at courts that everyone picks up b/c he's friends with someone - not because he's any good.

I hate that guy.

And Melo is still dirty as ever. Love the shove he gave to Richardson; Love the fact he didn't get caught; Love the fact Rich got caught doing it back.

Amazing what effort on the defensive end for all 48 minutes + 5 overtime minutes can do for a team.

The Magic were playing without some key players, but that's still a very good Eastern Conference team with the lineup they throw there every night.

Sheldon Williams did a great job on Howard early in the game. Actually, the help defense on Howard was tremendous and Anthony's ferocity on rebounds was amazing. He wanted the ball. It's about time these guys fight for the ball.

Effort gets the little things done and a team lacking size needs those little things to win. They were outrebounded by one against Orlando. Think about that. That's impressive.

But, the true test is how they perform on Wednesday against the Nets. Will they continue to play at a high level on the defensive end?

Walt and Breen brought it up: "Why not this every night?" Why not this every night, Knicks?

I think back to baseball practice in high school. Guys were dogging it running laps. We all were and then the coach broke us into fours and said: "Whoever finishes last, runs a mile." Who the heck wants to run a mile? So, everyone jetted in their sprints. But, he caught us. His next comment was: "Now that I know you guys can run that fast, you better run that fast again or you'll all do more sprints."

Don't show us this effort and then not care on Wednesday.

After watching the Knicks wins since thr trade..I'm really starting to believe that Melo has incredibly poor habits in a halfcourt set.

Most of his buckets were in Iso plays or where he just happened to get the ball and shoot it up.

I think that's a major part of why the Knicks have been struggling.

Even his comments at the start of the losing streak were..let's just go out there and play ball. We know how to score.

I think the Knicks best offensive flow this year was when Felton and Amare finally started to click in Pick & Rolls.

Melo is impatient and tends to break plays off to Iso. They definitely need a full training camp because..from what I've seen..Melo either doesn't get or doesn't want to play in this type of offense yet.

I agree that Melo is not embracing the team flow. He is stuck in the role of family provider. Whether that's on purpose or because of lack of time as a unit, I'm not sure we can know until next year.

I definitely shook my head in disgust during several shot attempts he took (and eventually made). It's just dangerous to rely on that type of offense.

One thing I have noticed and respect is Stoudemire during all this. To me, he's a guy that definitely understands the concept of team. He's been willing to sacrifice offense to make others happy and always has a smile on his face during positive team moments.

But other guys are definitely suffering from Anthony Iso's killing plays, Fields being one of the most obvious.

I don't think Carmelo will change. He's going to do what works for him.

The dude I feel bad for is Landry Fields. It's like he disappeared since the trade.

Some thought it was great but quite a few thought it was ugly and proved/meant very little. Unfortunately I agree with the latter.

The big debate was about Melo and his impact on the flow of the offense and how it affects other, namely Amare.

Most people should realize that the Magic were playing without Jameer, Reddick and Q-Rich I think. Also, the refs made some bad calls, both ways.

Either way, there was alot I didn't like about the game. A win is a win, yes.

Funny thing is, I saw a Nuggets game before the trade and Melo would run around in a set play but eventually, the ball would stop.

I just hope he buys into the team concept because as we saw, even a mediocre Knicks team can score with anybody. If he buys in, they can make some noise.

But like Jeffx said...you live by this Iso, Iso, Iso and you will die by it come crunch time because those shots are not easy and they will not always fall.
