Jimmer, Marshon Brooks, Klay Thompson all working out for the Knicks today... Josh Selby working out tomorrow

For me Selby & Thompson are the most intriguing. Both can fill a need (PG & SG) Selby though has the most upside of all these players.

Selby is definitely an intriguing player as I dont think you could get a full grasp of what he can (and will) do from his college time. Jimmer could be a solid off the bench guy for the time being, I really think he can be a good 6th man/range guy. Drafts full of an interesting middle, despite the top end being shotty.

And none of those guys would fill an immediate need IMHO. I believe Selby can be a good perimeter defender but he may not even be first round talent.

My draft board (based on need is):
1. Faried
2. Bismack
3. Markieff Morris

If the Knicks take a guard, any guard, I'd prefer it to be Shumpert.

Bismack is definitely a need filler for the Knicks. Whether he falls that far or not...

Shumpert is a reach @ 17. Many mocks have his stock dropping into the 2nd round. Faried will be probably be available but I'm personally not sold on him. He's under-sized & if Donnie is gonna stay true to playing STAT @ the 4, then a C is a must.

If Shumpert is who you want, then possibly a trade with the Bulls (28 & 30th) for our (17th) might work. They want Klay Thompson, if he's available this might be something Donnie may do

I don't think he'll be there, but I'd love to get Jimmer. Yea, he's another no defense guy and he's not going to be the pg of the future, but I think he's almost a lock to at least be a deadly shooter off the bench, and in this draft I'd rather take a guy we know has one really good skill rather than a project, or a mediocre guy who fills a need.

If the Knicks take Jimmer (if he's there), it just sends a bad message throughout the organization IMO.

D'Antoni is not liked (no extension) and we're starting to hear rumblings that Walsh may be getting fed up with his no defense philosophy.

So why even think of getting more offensive power? Unless it's a game-changer (I think Marshon Brooks might be), why go offense at all.

It's not like the 17th pick is a value pick. Roll the dice on a guy who can fill a need. Faried is undersized, yeah. But you know what he does. And not too many players on the current roster are committed to the other end of the floor.
