If the Knicks can figure out how to play 4 complete quarters...they'll be a problem.

Always great to have a dagger on your team like Melo to hit a shot when your team really needs it.

Gonna miss Shump. Bibby better get off his behind and stop trying to collect an easy paycheck.

Good God was Douglas terrible today. I would cringe every time he'd shoot.

            Terrible defensively.

Can see how Chandler helps but being forced to rove and cover teammate laziness kept him out of the paint to rebound the basketball.

I love his energy and his anger when he got T'ed up made me proud. He's not gonna handle the Knicks being lazy on D for 66 games.

Re: The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?

Yeah, as I've always said TD is way more 2-guard than he is point guard. He has horrible floor vision and telegraphs most of passes. The only role he should have is a scorer off the bench, anything else and he's a detriment to the team.

We pretty much won the game today because of Chandler. Yes, Melo went off in the 4th but Chandler's blocked and altered shots was the difference between last year and this year. Even without Pierce playing, this was a game that we always lost last year.

And today is ultimately why I want Pringles gone so badly. Our offense is too easy to stop against elite defensive teams. Of course Melo is as good of a scorer as there is but I hate the "hand it to Melo ahd have 4 guys stand around" offense. But can I really argue when he scores 17 in the 4th and leads us back from an 8-point deficit? It's just ugly though.

Shump looked pretty good, just missed some bunnies. He's going to be a player. Amare is going to be limited somewhat by TD, our PnR game is wack.

Nice W to start the season. Obviously it was sloppy but after the lockout everyone knew the players would be rusty and we'd have some ugly games. A W is a W though.

They played good defense early on
Just couldn't sustain it because if bad habits.

STAT either does not know how or is unwilling to play defense. I gotta give it to Menlo because he was actually trying to play D.

Jared Jeffries is out 1-2 weeks.

He had 3 steals, so he wasn't that bad.

He had his hands down on defense almost all game. It was disgusting. No matter how much he scores, his unwillingness to try on D is gonna ruin my favorable opinion of him.

Amare breaks the core fundamentals of individual and team defense on almost every possession.

He constantly is standing straight up-and-down with his hands at his side and routinely loses sight of the ball. Someone just take him back to basics with a little "ball-you-man", tell him to get his hands up and knees bent and he'd be tolerable.

What Bass did yesterday was embarrassing, I think yesterday may have been Amare's worst defensive performance as a Knick. He was a total no-show.

Only time Amare cares about defense is if he sees an opportunity to make a highlight reel type block. He refuses to do any of the dirty work. And if he's in foul trouble, forget it, he has no idea how to play with fouls.

The Knicks have claimed Jeremy Lin off waivers.

Lin was waived by the Rockets to make room to sign Samuel Dalembert.

Golden State waived Lin earlier in the offseason in order to sign DeAndre Jordan to an offer sheet.

Not a bad pick-up. Smart player who can defend. Give us 10 minutes a game. Probably means Bibby moves to Starting PG & TD comes off the bench.

Was Lin the best PG the Knicks could find?

Real headscratcher right there. I'm sure there's some D-Leaguers or undrafted rookies out there better than Lin.

                              I don't understand.
