The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?

I love all the media people ripping the Knicks and comparing them pretrade to current. The difference isn't Galo, Chandler, and Felton vs. Carmelo. It's the difference between Karl and Pringles. Karl would have this team striving.

Amar'e only gets ONE shot in the 4th quarter and both OTs?

Inexcusable.

I wasn't watching the game (gamecast again), but any comments on why this was the case?

Was it the usual Stoudemire not having any offense run through him and being left out in the cold or did he just not want to shoot?

I'm going to assume the former.

Early in the game...Melo went to the bench and the ball just was moving around.

Walker was hot from 3 and was tearing it up. Fields, Shumpert and Douglas were all playing well. I believe Melo was around 1-9 FG to start the game.

Melo came back in the 3rd and 4th and just kept shooting for whatever reason.

And then when the game was close down the stretch..D'Antoni just kept calling Melo Iso plays. To the point where he shot the ball while triple teamed.

Amare is not involved in the offense because he's out of position constantly. And when the ball stops...everyone else stops.

I was at a bar that couldn't show the game because NBA TV blacked it out and Time Warner is a POC, but they have this running twitter screen and I saw comments about Melo shooting and shooting and needing to just stop.

I know Melo is a great scorer (My brother told me he took and hit an amazingly bad shot to tie the game in the 4th) but man D'Antoni has to step up and do something.

This guy has no guts. I'm not saying I'm better than D'Antoni, but when I coached a team and saw them doing stupid crap, I benched them. Star player too. And guess what happened? They freaking listened.


Gotta send these guys messages. Playing time is the biggest message any of these players can get.

2 guys WIDE open. And he shot it.

Listening to the postgame interview they asked D'Antoni why Walker who played such a good first half only got 3 minutes the rest of the game.

He said because he shot an airball and messed up defensively.

So Carmelo didn't do any of that?

D'Antoni needs to realize that his loyalty to Melo is not reciprocal and it's not like Melo's gonna be cutting him a check or sticking up for him when he gets fired.

Except I'm now seeing how much better LeBron is to Melo or (yelp!) Mike Brown is to D'Antoni because the Cavs won 55 games with that offense and no one else.

We have Stoudemire.

This would be like the Cavs having LeBron and Bosh and Mike Brown never running an offense for Bosh.

It's so stupid to even think about it couldn't possibly make sense. That's how insane this is.

Looking at that box score, Mozgov had more points that STAT. Also, Melo had more TO's than Shumpert, who was the starting PG.

Interesting indeed. Melo taking less shots/passing more should help the offense by default.

Ugh... This Knicks team needs to get rid of the Pringles logo he just doesn't fit in this system, he likes to run at every moment possible and spot up Stat it just makes no sense with the players they have, he needs to adjust his system if he wants his job which looks like 2% chance of him staying.

You should know by now everyone has career nights against the Knicks. It's a tradition going back to Wilt. How about the night Pistol Pete torched an old Clyde, Jordan's 55, or even Brandon Jennings.
