Was Shumpert pissed when dantoni was yelling to get it to Lin? Seemed like Shumpert was feeling it. And I hate when I see chandler standing around at times. He wasn't even going to take the extra 1 step to get that board. Lucky it landed in his hands after a tip.
Edit: I like Novak but hate seeing him try to create on his own.

Great win. Not in the sense of execution but in the sense of hanging around, scrapping, and fighting through tired legs and bad turnovers.

Good to see Shump showing the offensive repertoire. Even though his shot percentages are low, I'm still not convinced he's that poor of a jumpshooter. I don't think I've seen anyone rim out as many shots as he has this year.

But this 5 game win streak is huge, especially considering the contributions we've gotten from typical non-contributors. Hopefully all these guys confidence is up.

Also:

New York is still the closest thing to a consensus favorite to sign J.R. Smith to a rest-of-the-season contract worth $2.5 million when the rangy guard returns from China. Lots of teams are interested in Smith, including both the Clippers and Lakers, but the Knicks are starved for shooters and have more money and a bigger role to offer than most Smith suitors, which gives them an edge.

Good win, scrapped all night and pulled it out even though we didn't play that well. Excited to see Amare back on Tuesday and hopefully Melo soon after that. It's been an amazing run but Lin doing it all was not going to last that much longer.

Great win tonight, the guys played hard. J-Lin was very exhausted, but he made the big plays when it counted. Steve Novak and Jared Jeffries have played really well as of late; I think they're the next candidates (along with Lin) for a HUGE 2K ratings boost.

As for J.R., no thanks. I dislike his attitude. Why don't we get Wilson Chandler back?

BTW, is Douglas hurt or something? He's had a terrible year but he still should be playing over Bibby. Bibby brings nothing to the table and needs to go the second Baron is healthy.

I'll take JR, mainly for backcourt depth and a guy who can create his own shot as well as catch and shoot. He can have all of Bill Walker's minutes. And Wilson Chandler is a restricted free agent so he's not going anywhere.

word , also billy walker gets into foul trouble to much and gets us in the penalty quick . if we get jr smith he'd be a much better contribution than billy walker.

He's Denver's restricted free agent. Most we could offer is our LLE (2.5 mil/yr) which Denver would match easily. Other teams under the cap would probably offer him more but I see Denver matching nearly everything.

Can we talk about Steve Novak?

I know Jeremy Lin is the man of the hour. And deservingly so. But, man Novak can shoot and dare I say, Lin probably doesn't get the room to run around unless Novak steps in and starts swishing treys like layups.

He also hit a huge jump shot last night. Knicks lose that game if Novak doesn't fire without fear.

I know he could benefit from Lin penetrating and finding him open, but Douglas is terrible. No one can convince me otherwise. He exposed himself against Boston in the playoffs (surprised no one called him Ouglas after that) and then came out shooting bricks this season.

Lin can be the point guard, but I have zero confidence in Douglas not chucking up a bad shot or five during the game just because he needs to get his own - which has been nada lately.

Welcome to the doghouse, Douglas. I hope you stay there. Knicks must be feeling really stupid for picking up that option especially since it's gonna make resigning Lin and Novak a tiny bit more difficult.

The way Douglas played D on Rondo in the playoffs last year was how D'Antoni instructed him I'm pretty sure. He usually plays solid, aggressive man-to-man(did last year anyway) but the way he defended Rondo was unlike I've ever seen him defend anybody.

The reality is that Toney is dealing with some serious and ongoing off-court personal issues, and that is likely the primary reason for his inexplicably poor play this season. Look, we all know that Douglas is not a viable NBA point guard, but scorers don’t forget how to score overnight. Instead of booing Douglas every time he checks into a home game – if he ever again does – perhaps Knick fans should encourage him and support him.
