If seeing the Heat win the championship and then make fun of us on national TV afterwards wasn't enough, nothing the Nets do will make a difference.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

If the Knicks become a great team it will be because they are motivated to win a title. Not because they are scared of the nets.

LeBron and Wade were being interviewed right after Game 5 and Barkley asked them something about how everyone kept saying they couldn't do it and starting doubting them in Indiana, Boston, and then OKC. Then Wade comes out and says, "Don't forget about New York. That was supposed to be a tough series too." Then laughed.
So for the 1,878,914th time in my life, **** the Heat.
TL: DR - They said we were free (which for those who don't play fighting games, means they didn't even have to work for the win). **** the Heat.Last edited by DieHardYankee26; 07-13-2012, 12:34 AM.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?
Is anyone else as pissed off as I am about Jeremy Lin and his agent?
Now they have every right in the world to get the highest and most guaranteed contract for their client.
But the Knicks have handled Lin with kid gloves..since last season.
I hope Woodson busts Lin's *** every single day in practice. Not enough to injury/hurt him in any way. But to bring him back down to earth and make him realize how fortunate he is to put on this uni and be a starting PG in this arena.
As much as I couldn't stand Amare all of last year for being a bonehead...he suited up like 5 days after having surgery and went out there with one hand.
Lin was "85"% and refused to get out of his suit for free agency.
Lin dismissed himself from the USA Select Team.
Lin has to prove himself. 25 games. $25M.
If he even comes close in preseason to looking like the lost puppy that he was when Mario Chalmers locked him up in Miami..I say give his minutes to Pri.

Re: The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?
I'm not anti-Lin by any means, but this asking for more money thing was absolute horse ****. There are no excuses now. He's getting paid too much money to trip and fall at mid court, or throw the ball out of bounds on a drive untouched. It's go time for him, and I really hope he knows that. Because if there's one thing people should know about New York sports fans, it's just as quickly as you are loved, you can be hated. I remember watching Yankees games a few years ago, when Jeter was struggling, and he was getting booed, and this is a guy who had actually proved something. All I'm saying is, the kid gloves are off. If he doesn't play and play well, he'll be slaughtered. Just as quickly as Linsanity was started, people will turn on him. So he better be ready, because the novelty has worn off. **** the stories, this is about basketball now.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?
I agree!
And not for nothing...but Lin should probably play 1 or 2 summer league games.
He's (or his agent) is acting like he's just too good for everybody.
Has anyone heard about Lin playing any type of ball this summer?
I'm all for marketing yourself and getting yours...but you have got to work.
The Rockets are trying to put butts in the seats. The Knicks are on a mission to win a championship...in the next 3 years!
We don't have time to play around.
If he thinks that he's just going to waltz into training camp in October...he's in for a big mistake. Woodson will have no problem pulling him. We know he didn't trust him last season. And sitting out those playoffs games...and now this...he's playing a deadly game.
Wrong market for that.
He could get away with just showing up in a place like Houston. Not here.Comment

Re: The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?
I'm not mad, go out and get your money, but you guys are right. The hollywood, underdog story is over. When he struggles, and he's still a young player so he will, he's going to be criticized.
And I agree, I wouldn't mind seeing him play a couple summer league games. I'm sure he's working hard, but it would still be good to see him play some games, since it's been awhile, and he's healthy enough to do it now.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

I think Kidd will do a good job at keeping Lin in check.
However, Lin has to realize he is the STARTING PG. He better show up to play. A-Rod went 0-4 last night and they gave him the business at the stadium last night.
Go earn your money Lin.
