True...at least I saw the first two, but that was ages ago. I'd like another title before I leave this earth.

I'd be less frustrated if the Knicks handled their business in '94. That was their year and they blew it. It still bugs me to this day.

If only someone on the Knicks would've told John Starks to stop shooting so many damn jumpers that wound up as bricks and drive to the basket instead during Game 7 of the Finals.

Knicks sharpshooter Steve Novak told ESPNNewYork.com on Wednesday that he and most of the team have organized a "pre-training camp" starting Monday.
The camp will take place at the Knicks' training facility in Greenburgh, N.Y., and will continue all the way through Oct. 1, when the Knicks must report for media day.
Novak said the activities will include alternating days of basketball and conditioning skills work.
"We just want to make sure we hit the ground running," Novak said.
Travis King, the longtime training adviser for Amare Stoudemire, said it's unique for players to join as a unit this early in the offseason. But he added that coach Mike Woodson, who had the idea for the "pre-training camp," and the key veterans (Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler) who picked the date, wanted to do it at this time because they've never been together from the beginning.

The road blues are great. The home whites just remind me of the Suns, something looks off.

It's unfortunate that we had to make a slightly different jersey from our classics so the team can sell more merchandise. I wish we just went with the throwbacks and called it a day, these feel like a cheap knock off of those. But the new unis certainly could have been much worse, glad we kept it simple and brought a waistband back. I'm happy, plus I'm sure they'll grow on me.

You have to admit..the black was unnecessary.

And I feel that there should be more uniforms and alternates. Was looking at the nbastore and they had a Melo #7 in gray. Wasn't great but I wish we had more choices.

And besides..with no more Lin...they had to do something to rev up sales

Yeah - I've hated the black since we debuted those road jerseys in the mid 90's. Black just doesn't belong with our franchise. I'm very happy that it's gone from the uniforms.

I wouldn't mind an orange alternate, I think it'd look slick. Gray though, I don't know. Can you post a link to that jersey? I can't find it on NBA Store.

Knicks Hire Olajuwon To Work With Frontcourt Players

The Knicks have tabbed Hakeem Olajuwon to train Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler and Marcus Camby at the team’s practice facility in Greenburgh, N.Y.

Olajuwon offered some advice on how to maximize the talents of the Knicks’ two All-Star forwards.

"It shouldn't be Amare just staying in the post because he can be a scorer in the paint and outside," Olajuwon said. "It's the same thing for Carmelo. He can score in the post and outside. So if Carmelo is in the post, Amare can be at the foul line and he can make that shot. If Amare's in the post, Carmelo can make the shot from the free-throw line, too. They shouldn't be competing against each other; they should be complementing each other. They need each other to win."

Olajuwon believes Stoudemire and Anthony can co-exist.

"They both have to realize that the most important thing is not how great you are individually," Olajuwon said. "You're remembered for how many games you win. So to get to play with another great offensive player should help you. It should make your job easier. You have to work well together. You can't be competitors with one another."

The Knicks offered Ewing the head coaching job of their D-League team and supposedly Ewing was offended and turned it down.

How much did Ewing help Dwight Howard's offensive game? We didn't see any improvement until he worked with Hakeem.

I'd much rather see Charles Oakley on the Knicks' sidelines than Ewing at this point.

As far as I know..Herb Williams is a more experienced assistant than Ewing.

Imagine Chandler having even a small portion of that type of game. The only time I see Chandler put his back to the hoop is when he's running back to play D.

LOL you might be better off using Kobe as an example. Howard's dream imitations are painfully slow and his hooks/fadeaways still ends up with him throwing the ball at the rim like he's mad at it. How so? It would give him a chance to showcase his coaching ability if he even has any. He can't do that as a "big man" coach in the league because no one see his work.

I'm tired of Ewing thinking that the Knicks owe him a coaching job.

Guys have come through in different means. Houston got a front office gig. Starks is PR or something. Larry Johnson got a job. I think Anthony Mason had a job at one point. Why does Ewing think he should be a coach on the sidelines?

Love him as a player but he needs to slow down. The D-League job would been perfect for him because it would've been a test run for a Knicks assistant coaching position.

C'mon - I won't argue how "pretty" it looks but he has been a much better post player offensively in terms of his repertoire.

Dwight Howard will never have a post-game. Working with Hakeem, Ewing or Kareem won't change that until he actually develops a better jumpshot.

I see this working for STAT because he can actually shoot the ball. If he's fading away or going up and under or whatever it is, he has the touch.

Chandler? Come on. Guy isn't gonna be a better offensive player because Hakeem teaches him some moves.
