He should've just taken the Russell Westbrook approach to avoid becoming a headline. Don't give the media anything to use against you.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

I honestly think he doesn't get it. Extremely naive.
If you catch his interviews...he's always smiling and chuckling/goofing like he's just hanging out with his boys. That despite the 20 microphones and recorders in his face.Comment

Re: The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?
I can only hope he matures quickly because the Knicks NEED him to step up this year. The pressure's on, both on and off the court. I don't want to see this guy get slammed in the media all the time because I think he is teetering on becoming a NY goat/hero. He seems like the kind of guy who doesn't deal well with that scrutiny so I can imagine
He just needs to stop saying dumb things and he has to take them deep into the playoffs. He's got his coach and a system that suits him. No more "fighting for the 8th spot" and "one and done" from here on out will do.Comment

WHat does that even mean? NY without a doubt wants melo to succeed and be even bigger than Lebron."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Melo and ARod take a beating every day for reasons beyond their respective sports just because they are great players.

That's a good point. There's nothing more exciting than watching a young player grow. I know a lot of Knick fans that are still upset about letting Gallo get away because they can see potential in him.Comment

Have you guys imagined if Houston comes to MSG late in the year, the pure comedy it will be watching Shump get 10+ steals on Lin before he even gets past half court?Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Landry Fields was asked by Alan Hahn about the Jeremy Lin situation.
Fields said, "Poison pill? That's like a Tic Tac to James Dolan."Comment

Re: The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?
No.
He didn't seem to have too much of a belly. But he wouldn't answer Breen directly when he asked how much he weighs right now.
FWIW...Amare said he's 245lbs. Came to camp in December at 260lbs.Comment

Re: The 2012 New York Knicks: The Filler Year?
Wow Amar'e went on vacation, out of the spotlight, and must've seriously gotten to work to have lost that much weight. I'll have to see what comes from his Dream tutoring sessions though.
EDIT: Also, is it just me or is Melo playing really well in these exhibition games for the Olympics? Making the extra pass, playing within the offense, etc. Just generally playing a smart, unselfish game out there and getting his without it being to the detriment of the team. I've gotta hope Woodson is watching these games and makes sure he plays the same during the season.Last edited by DieHardYankee26; 07-19-2012, 07:06 PM.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
