Why is Rambis liking porn such a big deal?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Oh look who is finally getting minutes at point guard. The actual point guard on the roster that the team should be developing."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Hard to imagine we were actually playing pretty good defense early in the year. Maybe it was strictly teams missing open shotsOriginally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

The roster has been turned over many times and yet defense continues to be a problem.
At some point, something needs to be looked at from a managerial or coaching standpoint. Something someone is teaching or doing is hurting defensive development and understanding."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: The 2016 New York Knicks: Now that we're done tanking...
In terms of athleticism we are so below-average by NBA standards. Derrick Williams is the only plus athlete and maybe Melo still qualifies. Not that it guarantees you'll be a good defensive team but when you have so many guys in your rotation that are at an athletic disadvantage it's going to hurt your team.
In terms of athleticism...- Calderon - way below average (slow, weak and can't jump)
- Afflalo - below average (strong but can't jump and isn't quick)
- Melo - Above average (lost some explosiveness but still quick and strong)
- Taps - a unicorn, but still needs to get stronger.
- Rolo - ground-bound and slow, below average (strong but slow and can't jump)
- Gallo & Lance Thomas are average athletes, Grant probably is too but his quickness is enticing.
- O'Quinn & Serafin are just like Rolo - strong but slow and can't jump.
- Sasha and Jimmer are below average guys.
D-Will is a freak (strong, fast/quick and can obviously jump) and Melo still has it. That's a really repulsive group as a whole.
Of course we were at the opposite end of the spectrum a few years back with guys like JR, Shump, prime Melo, Amare & Tyson and our D still wasn't elite."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

The turnover and different coaches is my concern.
Different players. Different coaches. Same defensive issues."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Rambis won't play Grant.
I'm beginning to miss Fisher.
The playoffs are dead. This team needs to focus on development."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Yeah, we all knew Rambis sucks and I don't really care about the last two months of the season but he needs to give Grant plenty of PT. That's one of the very few things I'm concerned with for the rest of the season."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
