D-Will on that contract wouldn't have been bad to have back. With all the money that's going to go around he's going to get paid by some dumb team.

For sure. I'd rather have every penny available this summer though, even if the FA class isn't all that exciting. Worst comes to worst then Phil does the same thing and finds a couple more placeholders on short/flexible deals."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The 2016 New York Knicks: Now that we're done tanking...
We need an infusion of talent. The players haven't been developing for whatever reason (the system, Fisher's lineup changes, Grant's freeze out by Phil & Rambis, playing Galloway at PG, etc.).
I'm tired of the stop gap players.
We need a legit SG and a rebounding/physical big.
I have no idea who can fill those roles in FA or trade, but Phil needs to stop effing around. We need to be a playoff team by any means necessary.Comment

Also, I want nothing more than Melo to get a ring here man. I really feel like he deserves it lol. He's been here, he doesn't talk **** or stir the pot, he's actively trying to tutor guys, recruit guys, have a hand in where the franchise is going...and he loves the ****ing team like we do. But people give him ****. I hate it.Last edited by DieHardYankee26; 06-21-2016, 04:02 PM.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

I'm hoping we keep Gallo (he's my guy and very affordable) and Lance Thomas (surprised me a lot and would be worth keeping around for the money). I'm not sure on who we are looking at in the draft but Grant needs to be unleashed next year, we need to really see if this guy is a part of this team. I'm optimistic Hornacek can do some good with him because he's good with PG's. He needs to be taking 1000 jumpers a day from all over the court this summer for sure. It'll also be interesting to see what happens with KP's old C we have stashed over in Spain and if he comes over.

And just realizing you were probably talking about Melo. If so, I'm with you. Melo doesn't love the team IMO. Melo loves his brand.
For the simple fact that he even considered going to LAL shows that.
Obviously I don't know what goes on behind closed doors but who says he's tutoring players?Melo never has been a vocal leader and it is not a requirement but he is what he has always been: a scorer.
And he had no part in free agency last year as he had other ventures he was dealing with.
To me...you had non-native born NYers who had way more passion for the team and city than Melo does. Would be nostalgia naming them but Oak, Sprewell, LJ, Starks, etc would bleed for that jersey.
I don't see that passion to win from Melo that I see from other players around the league.

Leadership is hard to tell without being there, but he's definitely taken a big role in mentoring Porzingis at least.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
