Re: 2016 Brooklyn Nets - Now What?

Not too worried about the injury, like i said in the draft thread, our current team doctor did his surgery along with Brook and Durant's. Plus he seems like he can play anywhere from 1 - 3. I like it.

and somehow we still got Whitehead. What?

Got rumors starting of Rondo wanting to come to the Nets coming down my TL today though. Dont know how reliable since its someone working for NetsDaily (and not NI)

That came from Marc Spears of Yahoo that reported he had some interest in signing with us. That man will have interest in signing with anyone who will pay him what he wants but I'll pass on him.

I'll take Rondo as a stop gap player. We really don't have any better realistic options
Am I trolling? Am I serious? Did Dennis Green and the Cardinals really "let them off the hook"? What about the children? Find out next week

If i had a choice i'd pick Sergio Rodriguez from Real Madrid over Rondo since i saw that rumor as well. At least Rodriguez can shoot now, unlike his last NBA stint

Whitehead will be rocking #15 for the Nets this year.

            Also from Coach Kenny:

            Andy Vasquez @andy_vasquez
Coach Kenny Atkinson was also insistent that the Nets aren't trading Brook Lopez: "No. Absolutely not. Have not talked about it."

            Andy Vasquez @andy_vasquez
Does Kenny Atkinson think his past relationships can help Nets recruit free agents?"No doubt. No doubt... Relationships are big in the NBA."
One guy who I do have my eye on this offseason is Portland's Allen Crabbe. Hoping we can somehow land him even though he's an RFA.

Apparently, the Nets are preparing to offer Rondo a max contract according to NetsDaily.

Jarrett Jack has been waived today.

Looking like Rondo/Lin will be our targets for PG this offseason.

Article from a few months ago on the Lin Atkinson connection you guys may have already seen:

Lin's gonna play his heart out for the guy, not like he wouldn't anyway.

                        Per Woj...

                        Adrian Wojnarowski ✔ @WojVerticalNBA
Sources on @TheVertical: Miami RFA guard Tyler Johnson has signed offer sheet w/ the Brooklyn Nets: 4-years, $50M. Heat has 3 days to match.

How it affects our Salary Cap going forward:

--Under the offer sheet, the Nets would pay Johnson $5.6 million next season, $5.9 in 2017-18; $18.9 million in 2018-19 and $19.6 million in 2019-20 -- but the deal would only count as $12.5 million on the cap, $12.5 million for each of the four years.

--If the Heat match, their cap would reflect the actual amounts paid out, except for this coming season, when the cap hit would be only $1.2 million, the amount of Johnson's qualifying offer. The Miami Herald has reported that . So, it would have been better for Pat Riley if Johnson hadn't signed anything and structured a deal more cap-friendly.
We'd also still have around $21 Mil in cap space if the Heat don't match also.

Well..if anything we cleared all the money from KINGS ******* DEALS to least to try and intice players to come here. I doubt we will, but at least we can sign guys that can actually play

Anyone else annoyed as hell about the whole Nets have no picks BS? We got two in the first round this year, and who knows what Marks does at the draft.

Edit: What does everyone think about most of the mocks with us taking Diallo and Giles? Personally im' fine with taking the chances. We don't really have anything to lose. Besides, reddit thinks we're still going to suck and that 2019 pick has us vying for Zion, so why not. Though we COULD hit big in free agency.

                              CARIS IS THE FUTURE.

                              that is all.

So Woj put out a hypothetical for a Lakers/Nets trade for them to clear space for PG. Basically we'd take on Deng/Mozgov(**** THAT) and either D'Angelo or the 2nd pick. I'd have no problem with it if it wasn't for Mozgov's albatross contract and he wouldn't play because of Brook/Hamilton, and i don't want to buy out because we got Deron on the books for years. Anyway, between this and people saying we'd take a Portland contract and one of their mid range picks, it seems most people love to think we're just gonna take some **** contract dumps just to get more picks. I don't hate the idea, but i'd rather sit tight with the two picks this year. Next season seems a wash, but the year after is the Williamson/Bagley/Bol class and we have our pick that year. So why not wait it out.

I'm sure Marks has a plan and i trust what he's done this far
